Farming Mystery Goo with Simba [KHFM]

I used this technique and got 7 of these in like 10 minutes. Only difference is I didn't waste time knocking the one fungi all the way down. Simba's attack reaches WAY up on the platform and so far doing it this way with that small adjustment hasn't been an issue. Thank you for the video man it helped alot. Thank you so much for this tip. I am playing video games after over 30 yrs and no longer have the dexterity etc of my youth. This is my first game on my new PS5 (just got a retirement present) and I am enjoying it tremendously, a long way from the old Infocom and Dungeon Master days 🙂. I found that all you need to do is run in and out of the bazaar until the attack panel turns red (that in itself is a great tip) as soon as you enter the area. Then I immediately summon Simba, as soon as I have control of Sora, I use Stopra on the shroom then let Simba do his proud roar. It often kills the ones below as well, but may not the finish the first enemy but it is easy to do it now with a few hits. I managed to farm 8 mystery goos and got 2 mystery molds in less than 30 minutes with this. really appreciate your posting this. BTW, I am at level 61.

Best method for me are the Rare Truffles in Halloween Town. Wait for one of them to go to the corner of the waterway under the bridge and cast Aero on yourself, then run into it. It'll continue to bounce and since it's up against the corner, it won't fall out. From there, all you have to do is make sure you recast Aero before it runs out. With good luck you can get three from one Truffle and even with bad luck you're guaranteed one.

I have been using your method, to add onto it after an encounter I highly advise leaving the bazaar, climbing back into Aladdin's house, jumping out of the window, and then go back to the bazaar. Has increased my encounter percentage phenomenally

Thanks man! Def easy, not the same payout for me but definitely works. You don't even need to jump down with Simba which has had a better payout for me for some reason. Bonus: When you get tired of farming the Mystery Goo go get a Mythril Stone from the Pot Scorpion when you need a break. Prob helps reset the Mushrooms anyway.

Idk if the black fungus classifies as a special heartless but: if you have encounter plus, all you need to do is go back 2 rooms, return, then go back 1 room and it should be almost guaranteed to appear. I used this to spawn the Snipewilds on Traverse Town and worked every time.

Thank you for this tip!! I have had almost no luck with white or rare truffles, and I am just playing original copy so I don’t have some of the abilities that you can use with wishing star. I tried your method several times in Agrabah and I almost got it right on the last try but I accidentally didn’t let Simba charge all the way. They all died but I got no goo probably because it wasn’t a critical attack (I did it twice). Afterwards they never came back even after restarting the game multiple times. I also am not able to get the encounter plus ability which might have had something to do with that. I went to many different worlds in able to get anything. Finally I tried Halloween town where there were spawns of rare, dark, and white truffles. The dark truffles came back every time and I got a bunch in a few hours using this summon method. Thank you!

The thing about Simba is he doesn't get any drop bonus that Sora or the others get - you're getting certain critical hits but it's still only a small chance to drop. Using the keyblade you have the drop bonuses but it can still die to a non critical attack and give you nothing. Either way, it's a pain.

Really helpful :) My easiest method is to do the white mushroom charades. Doesnt need any special items or abilities. I go to the campsite in deep jungle, do the charades, leave to another world, come back to deep jungle campsite and they appear again (doesn't happen all the time, but really often). I've collected 3 mystery goos in about 10 minutes and I'm still early-ish on in the story (presently Atlantica at lvl 42) Hope this helps for mystery goo farming

I can have an absolutely magnificent charades run, other times I'm literally a second away from them despawning, I like this method better if only because it allows me to get mythril shards/stones and tons of money, all of which I need for Mythril which I need for other synths. Not because I need to complete the synth chart, but for stat maxing.

You don't have to leave to another world, just go to Gummi ship and choose Deep Jungle again and land at camp, it resets the spawns

It seems even with Encounter Plus you still need to leave and go 2 rooms away to reset the Rare Heartless spawns. Spent like half an hout just going back and 4th from one room after first first Black Fungus kill with no luck but shortly after running to the pot scorpion location and back it showed up again much sooner. Very helpful method to grind out Mythril pieces for late game synthesis.

Leaving the bazaar, then going to the alley, up the wall and out to the plaza, then to main street then back into the bazaar seems to greatly increase the chance of receiving the mushrooms. Only do this once. Exit the bazaar and enter it over and over again until you get a mushroom encounter.

This would be correct because the refresh is actually 2 rooms away with Encounter plus. Without it it's to leave the world.

I can see the reason why he pushes the other mushroom over the edge is so he can visually confirm that the others haven’t turned themselves to stone before he zaps them. I have hit them with Simbas roar as soon as I see the first mushroom fall from above at full power and always taken them out. You all can play it at your own discretion but I personally have never had any trouble with the it. Simba’s roar seems to extend to the entire area so there isn’t really much to worry about.

This still works very well, my record was 3 Mystery Goos from just ONE run. Used Lady Luck with Ray of Light, Crit Plus, Donald and Goofy with Lucky Strikes and Cheers. What I noticed is that I tended to get much more drops from them if I would jump down and have a line of sight while hitting them with fully charged Simba. I think I did not get any drops if they died outside of the field of vision. And while resetting the area I farmed the Pot Scorpion with Aeroga and Strike Raid.

I don't know if summoning bambi does anything for your method other than removing donald and goofy, or if there's something more to it. Been doing the method shown for the last few hours and my tips would be: 1.) if you want to group them up under bambi then swap to simba, you don't need to attack them to knock them off, you can keep running into them to push them off, otherwise sora's slide skill is very good at pushing. 2.) you can actually just enter and immediately summon simba and do a max blast to kill all of them; it reaches all of them and they are slow enough that they won't reach you before you do.

After watching and reading comments I just enter summon simba and one shot them with fill charge BUT if you do this make sure you check the platform above ya as there is q span there as well and I miss several times the goo(after randomly saw it drop there i notice the mushrooms above drop it way more frequently for w/e reason out of the 4

Don't know if it does anything, but with Black fungus I seem to be able to spawn them when I enter their room when I'm currently in a battle. So from pot scorpion, once you finish that fight, leave from the upper gate, then glide to the bazaar entrance while in battle and black fungus should appear more often. This happened 3 times in a row for me, but it may have been a fluke.

I just got 1 mystery goo using this method for the first time! I'm going to keep farming this way for MG because I think if you do this correctly you should be guaranteed at least 1 MG with each black fungi encounter if his percentages are correct. This is indeed the best method I believe.

Ahh I see what you mean by that! I've been sitting here for a good 15 min and have only got 2 MG out of like 7 BF encounters. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong in my executions. Do the Black Fungi have to be unaware that you are behind them when you attack with simba? Do they have to be all killed at the same time in one attack? Should I not hit them and just push them off the ledge? Sorry for all the questions. I still find this method to be the best even if I'm doing it wrong lol

As far as the grouping goes, I do remember that it’s vital to kill them all in one blow so that none of them can throw up defenses and ruin your farming instance. It has to be brutal and efficient and final.

Sooo, i need to add to this guys video. Step 1: save in Aladdin’s house. Step 2: go in and out of the room he showed you. Step 3: after killing them with simba (you don’t need to use bambi) then save in Aladdin’s house. Step 4. RESET the game!!! I got over 10 mystery goos in 10-15 minutes. I tried all the other suggestion but this works 4 out of every 5 times. Thanks to the guy who make the video. Now onward to Seperath!!!

Forget simba. Equip wishing star and everything that can increase crit rate. Lose all air combo/combo plus abilities. Make fi isher happen in 3 hits equip zantetsuken and hurricane blast. Take a slight hop above mushie,enough to get combo out. Once u get the hang of it you will snag 4 everytime in about half the time as all this summon time. Def summon bambi and keep donald and goofy away they will block ur attacks or cause the mushies to stone up.

My method was same location in Aladdin’s world summon Bambi have the Pinocchio keyblade (I think it’s called wishing star I don’t remember sorry) then while Bambi is summoned beat the crap out of one it takes time yes but the keyblade from pinnochio has a guaranteed chance of critical blow from its combos so it works well since Bambi doesn’t attack and goofy and Donald won’t mess with you beating one up

I'm having some trouble. I've tried this 4 times (which is all the spawns I got within 30 minutes), and I only got one. Donald and Goofy didn't attack anyone, and I got all 4 within the one attack from Simba, fully charged. I only got one Goo out of those attempts. I have equipment that boosts summon strength, as well as a keyblade that does it, too. Any thoughts about what I could be doing wrong or what I might be missing?

I'm only level 60, but this is working at least 1 out of ever 4 tries (but only 1 or 2 Mystery Goo per bunch, and no other special items). I have every possible item and ability needed, but the Diamond Dust blade (since it also maxes MP and Summons), but in order to max out my chances of getting it, I do the following a bit differently: I don't summon Bambi, like another commenter said, I immeidately summon Simba, and I high jump, then glide over to the farthest corner in the pit. There are two Black Fungi on the high platform above, and they both jump down while charging up Simba (I immediately start charging his Roar when I land). It seems to work best if you can time it right before they attack you with the poison spray. I've only gotten 2 Mystery Goo at once one time, and it was when they were right about to hit me. Usually if I roar before they have had the chance to attack, I don't get any. I've gotten 5 Goos in the past 20 minutes, so I am halfway to all I need for the Ultima Weapon -- thank you for this video!

I found fairly consistently that even with encounter plus on, i still wouldnt get an encounter after 14 reentries. But if i went to aladins house, then started going in and out, i would get them 1 or 2 entries. Sometimes first time walking in from aladins house or an additional 1 or 2 reentries. I didnt understand your bambi method other than maybe ti buy you time so donald and goofy dont screw the drop up. So i was using bambi and jumping down then using simba. It worked twice but then 3 times in a row i didnt get anything. Then i started pushing them down without hitting them and then i started getting mystery mold as well as mystery goo. Probably a coincidence, but if i follow it how you do it, it seems to increase my chances

I just seem to remember Donald and Goofy always interfering no matter how passive their settings. Granted, I could've just GOOF'd up myself with this strat, but the mana fill-up and the removal of the awful party members seemed to smooth things out. And yes, the encounters go better if you step into a save portal, IIRC.

Good question. The reason I formulated the strategy in the first place was because I was dissatisfied with attempting this with special Keyblades only. What's satisfying and efficient about this particular strategy is it disallows any of the enemies to turn to stone before they die instantly in a large group. It's just easier for me, but there are many other methods to be found around the internet. Hope that helps!

Personally I don't have too much problems farming mystery goo but I'm also not 100% going for the weapons yet so I could end up needing a lot more but the main problem I have is the fucking power stones the stupid sniper monkeys are god awful I'll be across the district trying to plan my attack and then someone one sees me and calls for back up I'm going to try getting set for sephiroth and get that key which I think is more powerful than the rose but i could be wrong I'm also nearly level 75 if not already

Wait, question. You say KHFM (2002), but I'm assuming this is KH HD Remix (2013). At 5:55 you're walking back and forth to summon the Fungi. Does that work for White Mushrooms too? Cause I seemed to recall that you had to walk 2 (or 3?) screens away to reset the screen of its heartless, regardless of whether normal, shrooms or FM-unique. And I spent 40 minutes in Agrabah to get the Shrooms, getting away from Treasure room, down into the Silent Cave, then Hidden Cave, then back up to the Hall, then Bottomless Hall and Treasure room again. And I've already been trying to get Atlantica for 20 minutes by running back and forth btween the ship and Ursula's cave. If you're telling me I can just go in and out that's amazing! But... maybe you must NOT kill the normal heartless? Cause in Atlantica Donal can just destroy them with a Blizzara XD

Idk man, pretty sure Final Mix is shorthand for Final Mix 1.5+2.5 which iirc was the version I was playing. Start with a save in that room you see me in at first. Load out and back in if needed. Whatever you see work in the video is how to do it unless patched otherwise. Good luck.

Guys, the ABSOLUTE easiest way is the white mushroom. Use the right spells on them three times in a row and you have a good chance to see the goo. (lol) not always, but better than needing skill to hit the blue truffle or always using a summon. The only problem is trying to get them to spawn. But if you are okay running back and forth between 'rooms' until they do, then you got this.

You can, Bambi is just there in case you mess up the shot with Simba and need to charge another one. You can get two full blasts with super-full mana, so it's a "just in case" measure.

I'm also gonna say that sure, while this method is viable.....it is taking FOREVER for the Black Fungi to spawn in Agrabah, as a matter of fact I've spent more time trying to get them to spawn and almost never getting a Mystery Goo (and I am using Lucky Strike), that in all honesty the Rare Truffles would likely be a better choice to take.

Also I’m gonna say that I did this video spontaneously, not filming a spawn I may have taken hours to generate. I generated it on camera shortly after taking off from the save point. If I can do it, why can’t you?

@@MessrDookie101 I was apparently doing this wrong without realizing it, so I apologize. I thought it was enough to simply travel between the Bazaar and the Main Street cause it seemed to work for other worlds. So I'm sorry.
