little piece of advice if you cut directly straight across it will automatically not a little knock out making the tree fall no matter how low or high you cut the tree so I recommend cutting exactly straight not at an angle

when you cut down trees you want to cut them higher up the stump or else they will not fall down and you can be more realistic and not run a car into a tree just to get it knocked out so try to cut it a little bit up the stump
