This rework definitely boosted my confidence. I used to be only able farm AR8 DT, but with the rework I found that I can actually play consistency nomod maps (which are way more enjoyable) and even push my skill by playing mid 6* and still get PP even with a few misses and good accuracy. Now like 60% of my top 100 plays are nomod instead of being 90% DT. I would still play mostly nomod consistency like I did previously without the rework but I feel way more justified in playing those maps and it's improved my enjoyment and skill quite a bit.

This rework singlehandedly made me enjoy improving performance in osu! again. Before, trying hard to improve your performance was just an anxiety attack waiting to happen so I pretty much stopped caring about pp, but now, even if your nerves get you to miss in any part of the map, it's not the end of the world and you can still keep your composure / mental up for the rest of the map because it's still going to be worth something.

my rework experience has been great, i went from wanting to barely fc 5.5 star maps to now trying to play (and mostly suceeding) 6.5 star maps, ive set a bunch of plays im really proud of and gained 30 thousand ranks in the process +350 pp since rework, super proud of my 6 digit self

Hey! Long time osu enjoyer and Koi supporter here. I remember asking a question in your 100k Q&A back in 2021 (time flies, huh) about whether you thought you could (and would) ever farm to 3 digit. Your answer was a rather surprising (and confident) yes, and that you would achieve it within the year for content and for your own pride (0:40 in the video for those curious). While that obviously didn't happen (no worries, most farming dreams live and die quite quickly), the fact that this new pp rework has actually rolled out before the heat death of the universe is insane. You're now within reaching distance of your 2018 peak rank, and I can say I'm more excited than ever to watch and partake in the farming bonanza! I personally have found my consistency has improved recently, although I'd say that's more just me coming back to the game after a few years. (I'm a lowly mid 5 digit stream player, and 300s are still an achievement worth celebrating for me) Long live the 2017 stream highlights, and long live Java!

I've definitely improved massively since the rework started before rework i was about 99k just got out of 6 digit again and i was gonna just be around the same rank after rework, as soon as the pp values started showing on lazer i begun popping off and ended up gaining ~20k ranks post rework after the scores i got, I'm continuing to improve and now choking 300pp scores when just a couple months ago i was struggling for 200s

before rework my top play was 160pp (and it was harumachi clover which made me kind of ashamed of it) and my avg pp per map was 110-130pp and i was at point where i thought "im gonna be hardstuck 300k forever" after rework i managed to get 212pp play, my avg pp per map is 140-160, and i went from 300k to 198k in maybe 2 or 3 days, but only issue with rework is that EVERYTHING gives pp, basically i play 6.5-7 star maps to just push myself to progress, but often they give me a lot of PP with bad acc, which made my acc go from 97% to barely 95%, but other than acc i think this update is W BTW do you remember me from DM on ur stream "dammn are you on farm arc ? never seen you ranking up soo much". Congrats on succesful farm arc :D

The thing about the rework and confidence is just because of: "Yeah I can play higher star rating than my current level, but if I do low miss count I gain PP" so basically we are trying to be focused more on harder maps than our "skill level" just because we know if we do low miss count we will gain rank/ aka. PP. So doing that, we kinda have boost in our mind and dopamine to push our skills beyond. That's all what is causing that to us. Also it let me choke 7,8* map and gave me PP maybe not a lot, but jumps are basically full screen at the last part, while I am supposed to be playing low 7* maps and high 6*. It just made me feel like I can grind that high 7* maps, just because I gaining PP from them.

Lowkey same, i had my top play as 162 pp, and had around 50-60 100 pp plays and now I have a 201 pp top play and all my top 100 is just 100 pp plays, gained almost 100k ranks too

with the pp rework I had the same effect on my peformance. Definitely felt a boost in confidence since all my chokes before rework were actually worth something. Then I proceed to set a variety of top plays that before the rework I felt would never get whether they are choke scores or not.

This rework definitely did what it set out to do. I'm a 150k player, only been seriously playing for about 7-8 months total, and mostly just stuck with farm maps. I mostly played shorter farm maps, but not for the pp and crazy rank ups, it's because they were short + fun, and the big number just was a little confidence booster on my abilities. That was the problem with the long maps. I would make a play on a longer map that had 2 or 3 misses that I felt confident in and felt good about, but the pp counter would tell me that it was a 60pp play. When I knew that I wasn't fcing them soon, and the fact that I hated how heartbraking it was to near-fc a map and miss at the very end, and that the pp counter also told me it was a shit play (it wasn't about the rank up, it just was telling me it's not a good play at all), I just didn't want to touch longer maps. Now with this rework, I may still play short farm maps because they're fun, but I'm also able to play long maps because they're fun. I get a 3 miss and not only is a decent play, they can sometimes make it into my top 20. This rework has not only made it easier to play longer maps on a mental standpoint, but has actually made me care about pp less in general even more than I did before. It's a w rework in my book, and I love it so much, glad to see even higher performing players like you can enjoy it as well.

well the rework made me return to the game after a good few months of not playing at all. Used to be doing 6-7 star maps, now can barely fc 5 stars. but I have still retained some of my skill, so that's at least something. I wasn't so sure about the rework at first, but observing the osu community since it came out, I think it has done a lot of good.

after the rework i went from 584k to 440k which really boosted my confidence to play again. i havn't played "regularly" since like june/july. my acc and getting combo's on maps are still horrible but i feel like i'm better after the break. just did like 115 dt runs today at around 4.3-5.5 stars which i had trouble on before and can tell that my finger control is better. my hands sharke way more tho lol. acc is improving too doing no mod. i genuinely feel like i can get a 100pp play soon now yippee

I set my first 500pp score right before pp rework. After all of that stuff I couldn't set any valuable pp scores, but after playing for 3-4 days my overall skill just blowed up. I almost FC 8* DT map and learn to play 300bpm jumps at the moment. I think that new pp system was a lever for my skill and rank. TY PPY!

Holy shit I am playing osu at School and got a 50pp play of playing and I started playing on the 20-23 of September 2023 and a 50pp play is some thing I am still proud of I used to play on a fucking laptop trackpad if you don’t know what I mean by a trackpad the mouse that is inside your laptop below your keyboard and at school I play on mouse and I’m so much better and now I play on my phone and school pc intel i7 ps3 emulators run great osu runs great getting maps is fine skins are annoying to get because of school firewalls and blocking some sites but google drive works so I can get skins on my phone and put them on google drive good shit koi happy for you keep it up :3 :D

But after the rework hit Ive been able to choke maps that are worth 800pp, got my first 700 on ass, farmed alot of 600s since the rework, been able to play maps I never could before, id say the rework probably boosted my confidence quite a bit

the rework originally scared me. i had been grinding for MONTHS after redownloading osu to get higher than 1M rank, and i managed to get around 870k (and i was proud of that considering i cant really do more than 3.5* maps). anyways, it had orignally dipped be back to like, 950k, and i was devastated. but, after a few days (and playing more beatpacks for medals) my score jump to around 698k, and playing more im at 683k :)

funnily enough i think the rework kind of... I wouldn't say demotivated me but it made me reflect on my playstyle Basically I now have confirmation that I'm dogshit at consistency. I actually have 3 minute+ scores which are 200pp now (bang bang, both colors powers diffs, sunglow) which would have been pisslow before I guess to an extent you could say I've also become more motivated since I feel like these longer maps which before I wouldn't have bothered fcing are finally worth going for. I have really bad ocd and I can somehow do 3-4 star maps and next map I can’t hit a single note due to inconsistent pen grip/feeling or position. Also any tips on tapping those stacks of 4-5 circles that come fast?

Bro if you new at the game I recommend you to master on mouse first to make it more easier before you switch to pen and that 4-5 circles that it come fast it’s called burst so you need to practice your alternate skill to hit that cause it’s really fast but depends on bpm
