Very realistic and interesting tips on how to go about farm mechanisation. You have answered a lot of questions that have been lately looking around for answers but without good sources. Am glad your ready to connect upcoming and existing farmers to the suppliers of equipment that you have used. Though I have a question about the bailer that you use on the tractor, does it used poly bags for wrapping or it uses sisal threads like your first in-house baler?. 🇺🇬 East Africa. 🇺🇬

Arid portions of Africa will benefit greatly from SWRT Solutions subsurface membrane technology which is presently being tested in Kenya. This water and nutrient saving technology is delivering 5 to 7 times more crop on small holder farms.

A very useful video for those of us interested in farming; but I now understand why Fulani herdsmen would rather graze the cows. The equipments are expensive and unaffordable for most people and it would take a long time to recover the cost and make some profit. Question is why not let the cows graze on your land instead of harvesting and bailing the grass?
@FarmingInAfricaOfficial3 жыл бұрын
I agree John. The reason why we don’t allow them to feed on is because our land is not big enough to have them gaze the entire year. So is better we preserve them.
@johnakpalu21183 жыл бұрын
@@FarmingInAfricaOfficial Because these machines are very expensive we would always have the conflict between the Fulani herdsmen and local farmers. A solution might be to grow the grass in commercial quantities and bail and sell it to ranchers or have a system where the ranchers can collect the green grass and dry it on a platform such as is used for cocoa beans and then bag them for later use. What do you think?
