Very informative, but thankfully since this video was made, people have woken up to the dangers of 'Round up' and it's assosiated GM mutations. I grow Miscanthus giganteus for privacy and wind protection, and its great for using as kindling in my wood stove. Best wishes from Ireland.

I found this very informative until you said Roundup! C'mon, that needs to be put in the past, then you talk about putting in round up tolerant plants! Gah! Anyways, I will be trying to get a variety of grasses to use as screening but would like to learn more about other uses, like home heating.

Slasher is organic but clears most plants so take care where you spray it

Could this be a good crop to plant next to your fence row by the roadway to keep poachers from shooting into your fields? Also is this a crop you could just burn or bush hog after each growing season? I wouldn’t be interested in harvesting any of it. I just want it as a visual barrier.

If i understood right the botanical name is miscanthus gigantius these in the video are very short for the species. Arundo donax is another tall grass you can try. Hell if your that far south pampas grass would even work for you. Any way giant miscanthus is very tall some I've planted are upwards of 15 feet and on occasion they do fall over in a heavy storm

Are there any live-stock(s) that will eat Miscanthus? I'm looking to start a farm in Taiwan; Miscanthus is fighting for nutrients and I'd like find live-stock to eat it and provide bio-nutrients for other trees, orchards, etc .

It has no nutritional value. It was designed as a bio fuel. I am using some as privacy screens for my house
