Dutch, I am a nurse and I am much like you... sick and still go go go. You really need to rest and do not exert your self. There is always the potential that the pneumonia (yours is probable bacterial) could go into there blood stream and it is called sepsis. This can be life threatening. I am asking that you please give your self time tom recover. I became septic and had to call a friend to come and take me to the hospital. Please take time to rest and drink extra fluids. I have been sick for about 6 weeks - starts with itchy throat and eyes, then sinus infection, then drainage and goes into bronchitis and bronchial asthma. It is awful and takes forever to go away. Rest and get well Shawn.

Dutch, you need to really take care of yourself. Pneumonia is not to be taken lightly! I spent five days in the hospital in 2015 with a fairly severe case of pneumonia, then had a pretty severe reaction to a prescribed antibiotic -- I could not keep anything on my stomach for two weeks. I lost 35 pounds in that two weeks. My doctor told me that losing weight is usually good, but that it was one heck of a way to lose it. I don't think I had ever felt so sick in my entire life! Sorry, didn't mean for this to be about me. I just want you to take care of yourself and get well. And since we live in Florida, pneumonia is not geographically limited! May God continue to bless you and yours always!

I eentually recovered from my pneumonia, but the allergy to the antibiotics prescribee when I left the hospital are the trus I was allergic to -- the ones that made me throw up at least every time I took that antibiotic and maybe more often, too. That;s why it took me quite some time to recuperate from pneumonia. I did have a pretty servere case of it, with indications that I might not have survived if I hadn;t gone to the hospital the night I did.

I will never forget that ice storm. I lived in Northeast Texas at that time. Took over 3 weeks to get electricity back. Thank goodness we had a generator and fireplace. We camped out in the living room the and used the fireplace to cook our meals. Also Dutch. Please do not do any work until you are over the pneumonia. My lungs are almost gone, asthma, COPD. Then I came down with Pulse Arterial Hypertension. High blood pressure in my right lung that causes my heart to work so hard. I was in the hospital last year for 10 days with pneumonia. I have had it several times. Once you destroy your lungs, You can’t fix them. Please rest

In early November I came down with a flu. I had that horrid headache for a couple days, along with fever and congestion in my head and chest. It knocked me on my butt for almost a week. When I started feeling a bit better I ended up with a raw throat. I’m still trying to clear out the last of the chest congestion. It’s bad, folks; it’s really bad this year! Rest and get well, Dutch! 🙏

Ohhhh I feel for you. Im in Kenya. Same. Severe headache, sore throat, high fever, and all the trimmings. The doctor came to our apt and gave IV antibiotics and paracetamol, he's coming 2x tomorrow as well. I have a perm. Stint??? I guess you call it in the top of my hand. It just exhausts me. You need to drink some hot tea with honey, lemon, peppermint, and a lil cayenne pepper. I also have asthma. My lung dr suggested I drink hot tea even though I was on meds. Hope you feel better very soon. 😊 happy new year!!

I’ve never had pneumonia but it took my late husband from me. My mom got it every year and one thing I know, you need to put yourself to bed and stay there. I wouldn’t want anyone to have to make the decision I did to take my husband off life support because all his other organs started shutting down. So get lots of rest and drink lots of water. Stay out of the cold air and win. Your family needs you.

Back in the 70s I had pneumonia for half a year. I was in the hospital and it was when kids died from it. I have bad lungs from all the scaring. Take care of yourself I'll pray for you. It's never fun when your lungs are effected and you can't breath.

I live in Knoxville Tennessee and that virus has run through our whole family and my sister’s family and quite a few other people that I know. My husband actually had to go to the hospital and be admitted because it developed into pneumonia on him and he is a stroke survivor with a permanent tracheostomy. That cough that the virus caused lingers about 2 to 3 weeks. That respiratory virus and the flu is getting bad here. They are not letting kids under 12 years to visit one of our hospitals that is a major trauma hospital in our city. I hope you feel better soon and stay hydrated.

Currently, the State of TN emergency rooms are packed. Most of the cases are the Flu. Unfortunately, sometimes I'm called to the emergency room for a surgical consult. Dutch you need to see your physician. And go from there. I always get friends or family asking me, what they have. But I can't make a proper diagnose without an examination and blood workup, etc. So do NOT listen anyone in the comments. About what to take, or do,. Get properly diagnosed and your doctor will get you on a correct course.

Dutch don’t mess around with pneumonia. Take it from this ER RN rest fluids and meds. I understand you have a lot to do prior to the artic blast but you need to take care of yourself. You’ll get exhausted very easily to the point you may pass out. Get feeling better. Love to all❤
