FARO SCENE Fixing Auto Registration Problems of Targetless Projects

FARO Focus3D X330 Data registered by FARO SCENE. The auto registration feature fails to put the project together, this video walks through a workflow to repair the registration.

Many of the newer laptops that are considered "Gaming" laptops can be used. Shoot for 32GB Ram, more if you can, but the high end graphics card is key

10:34 at this point it might be a good idea to look at the Report tab (on the left side) which will show how much error the might be. Also - the video is repeated, it's the same thing twice...

It really depends on the project. If you have a large amount of geometry around you, buildings, walls, equipment, furniture etc the FARO SCENE should auto register fine. Targets really are necessary in an open area without stationary geometry.
