Actually make sure to select the entire save so it'd be like file > open > (world name here like "New World") (select folder) you'll get an error saying no dimensions found if you only select region, dim-1 or dim1

1.Old map can not be loaded in the 1.17snapshot for now, we don't know if it is available when it is released 2.Even though it can be loaded when 1.17 is released, map reloading by using these tool can reload other places away from your building, but it can not reload the ground under your building, the ground and the sky will increase 64 blocks respectively, it means if you don't reload your building areas, the under ground will be different from the areas that you reload. This is the questions for our server are facing. We have lots of building, if we can not find a way to solve this, we will have to move our building to the new map.

I think I know why there are black and gray areas. Since one region file contains several chunks, the black areas are ungenerated/deleted chunks in existing region files where as the gray areas are places for which a region file doesn't exist.

Quick question. If I have a world that I've been using for a very long time and I install a terrain generation mod (ie biomes o plenty). It won't work at all because I've already made the world but what if I use this tool on everything besides my base and a few other important areas. Would it generate the new modded terrain or would it just cache the world and give me the same everything that I started with when I made the world.

if no world change still you can do some mansion raid rest will give you more totems and if there is a world generation update you can use this tool with chunkbase seed loader to get new biomes

Question for a server: we had a world in 1,17 A border was set at 5000 in all direction . All zone past 5000 away from 0, 0 were never loaded. When 1,18 came out, we updated the server to 1,18, and lifted the border and pushed it back to and extra 5 k more. We wanted to find some 1,18 generates section… but could not… find any mountain or crasy cave… it s realy weird… Do you think this methode could work? Players have build mostly in the first 5k from border . So we d like to keep those 5 k and erase those other chunks … Could we hope for 1,18 generation? Thank you!

Hey Farzy, do you think there would be a way to use this on a realm for bedrock? Like can I get on my computer on the bedrock edition and extract that realms world and utilize this? I have a realm we have played on for quiet a while on Xbox but didn’t know if I would be able to do this too.

I'm not sure how Realms work, but you can convert Bedrock worlds to Java using programs, so its probably possible. Just look up how to get a copy of your Realm world, then do the conversion to Java, then back to Bedrock

Minecraft worlds can take up a lot of space quickly. I want to regularly make backups, but sometimes I need to go back to a very early backup for some reason. A Minecraft world can quickly take up 500MB or if you play for a long time it can go well over a GB. This means that the backups accumulate and they take up a lot of space. I saw that this application can select chunks based on "last modified". So I can essentially manually create a backup and remove all chunks that haven't been updated. If I need to restore a backup I can manually build the world by going through all versions in order and copying all the chunks into a fresh version of the world. This keeps the file sizes low, but it's not very user friendly. Can this application do it automatically or do you know of an application that does this automatically?
