Let me guess, you were born into Christianity and only believe it because your parents told you to. You were maybe raised in a strict Protestant Christian household and have never done any research on any other faith, dismissing them all as pagans. Also you clearly have nothing to do with your life, so you go into videos of other religions you know nothing about and comment Christian propaganda, hoping somehow that someone will for some reason convert to it. How can you worship sticks and stones and other earthly materials that which you carve with your own hands.. Why do they worship that which does not benefit them neither can do any harm to their enemies. We shall follow what we found our fathers following.\" (Would they do that!) Even though their fathers did not understand anything nor were they guided? (Al-Baqarah 2:170)" وَمَثَلُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا كَمَثَلِ الَّذِي يَنْعِقُ بِمَا لَا يَسْمَعُ إِلَّا دُعَاءً وَنِدَاءً ۚ صُمٌّ بُكْمٌ عُمْيٌ فَهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ And the example of those who disbelieve, is as that of him who shouts to the (flock of sheep) that hears nothing but calls and cries. (They are) deaf, dumb and blind. So they do not understand. (Al-Baqarah 2:171) And another place in Quran (sura ambia (prophets) /) Ibrahim (Abraham) asked the idol worshippers.... 52. When he said to his father and his people: "What are these images, to which you are devoted?" 53. They said:"We found our fathers worshipping them." 54. He said: "Indeed you and your fathers have been in manifest error." 55. They said: "Have you brought us the truth, or are you one of those who play about?" 56. He said: "Nay, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Who created them and of that I am one of the witnesses. 57. "And by Allah, I shall plot a plan (to destroy) your idols after you have gone away and turned your backs." 58. So he broke them to pieces, (all) except the biggest of them, that they might turn to it. 59. They said: "Who has done this to our aliha (gods)? He must indeed be one of the wrong-doers." 60. They said: "We heard a young man talking (against) them who is called Ibrahim (Abraham)." 61. They said: "Then bring him before the eyes of the people, that they may testify." 62. They said: "Are you the one who has done this to our gods, O Ibrahim (Abraham)?" 63. [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Nay, this one, the biggest of them (idols) did it. Ask them, if they can speak!" 64. So they turned to themselves and said: "Verily, you are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers)." 65. Then they turned to themselves (their first thought and said): "Indeed you [Ibrahim (Abraham)] know well that these (idols) speak not!" 66. [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Do you then worship besides Allah, things that can neither profit you, nor harm you? 67. "Fie upon you, and upon that which you worship besides Allah! Have you then no sense?" I pray to the true one and only God Allah guides us all. Ameen Love and Peace... Thank you very much for explaining where the fat Buddha comes from. I practice Japanese Sōtō Zen and my teacher once said that apart from the fact that the fat Buddha is a kind of deity in China, it may also come from the last years of Śakyamuni Buddha's life, when a lot of woman was chasing him and deliberately gained weight to be less attractive. My teacher could not know it, because he's not a expert in Chinese Buddhism. And it turns out that the fat Buddha is a completely different person from around the 10th century. Thank you.

I have been to all those 3 temples in the video. They are beautiful but not the best Chinese Buddhist Temple. The best ones are in Shanxi Province with 1000-year-old buildings, statues and wall paintings!!! Please come to visit!

It's interesting to note that several Thai Buddhist statues are in this particular monastery. Thai people tend to be Theravadin and not part of Vajrayana Buddhism. This is much like finding a Greek Orthodox icon in a Baptist Church. Not unheard of, but unusual.

So called Fat Buddha is a popular Buddhist monk who lived in China in 10th century. Chinese people still fondly remember him. In Buddhism there is no such thing as Maitreya Buddha. Buddha was not a prophet and he did not prophesized so called Maitreya Buddha.
