Coming from only having dogs that had guard in their nature, my last three dogs were a Rottie, a Dobie, and a GS, it takes some getting used to that my best boy really just doesn't have that instinct at all. He's the friendliest, sweetest, most jovial thing out there. Fortunately, we have a guard cat to take care of protecting the house.

I thought the Labrador got its name from the region of Canada where it all started?

The Brits who first named them were confused about their origin, mistakenly attributing it to Labrador instead of Newfoundland. 👍

Not correct I'm afraid. The reason they are called Labrador is that there was already a dog breed named the "Newfoundland" as you may know, so the name Labrador was given in lieu. Both regions form 1 (one) province at Canada's east coast known as Newfoundland and Labrador. Check out the" east coast kitchen party"....take it from a Canadian.@@lp9476
