Fashion Flop or Future Fashion? Inside the Prada-Axiom Spacesuit

Thanks for this informative video. The space industry has a long history of going to clothing companies for help with space suit manufacturing. For example, when NASA was developing the space suits for the Apollo program, they went to ILC Dover, which was the parent company of Playtex, because they needed their expertise in stitching techniques and their advanced fabric development lab to make the suits more durable. Also, I hope Axiom will be able to deliver on their contract. According to a report from The Space Race KZbin channel, Axiom is in extreme debt after its CEO resigned this past summer. He grew the company to quickly and hired 700 more employees than they could afford to pay. Now, the company is unable to pay its sub-contractors. The new CEO is trying to fix the mess the company is in, but he said their new space station project will have to be significantly scaled down and many of the company’s other projects will be delayed. I hope everything can be worked out, and wish them the best of luck.

If Prada is willing to risk their reputation on the new spacesuits, that is a good sign. I am curious to know if Prada is providing support with design, materials, manufacturing, testing, supply chain, or something else.

I work for airlock in ct and I cut out visors and buit the Eva for that suit that debuted there. I also paint all of the sun shades for the assembly. I'm glad I can help humanity with my skills, and it feels great being a part of history🎩👏
