yes in 2019 but things got jinxed as my Head of department took too long to give me heads up for the styling internship as I was studying fashion designing and they took my offer letter back 😅 It was a really nice platform although I got another internship in designing.

Please tell how and where we can approach people for jobs in fashion industry as a stylist or art director or photographer and maybe all in one along with being a makeup artist. Because I feel if you don't have like contacts contacts in the industry no one really even cares to open the mail and go through your work. People just don't. Jack system works and someone who knows someone who wouldn't even be very much deserving would end up getting the job. So what to do about it? How to go about it?

Divyanshu Kumar No! No company should be asking for money for an internship! If they are, they are absolute FRAUDS in my eye! It is a whole different level of exploitation tbh and a lot of people do it and FAKE it by calling it a learning experience but it is ABSOLUTELY WRONG on so many levels!

I am a first year student at NIFT and my advise would be that you focus on your entrance exam first, once you are finished with all the exams then apply for any sort of internship if you feel like it.

I studied architecture for 5 years and was always fascinated by fashion design more, so I decided to do a diploma course in my last year of architecture. With the content I had from that diploma course, i made a portfolio and applied everywhere in india. I got in 4 firms in delhi and 2 firms in mumbai. I confirmed with the firm in mumbai last week and start there next week. In my opinion, even if you are not a fashion student, you do need content for a portfolio to show the firms how much you know about fashion. If you have the mind of a designer, all you need is to showcase that in your portfolio and the responses for your application would come pouring in.
