AMAZING!!! Probably the most modern and chic collection i've ever seen all at once at chanel, while staying within the lines of the Chanel look. Very versatile clothes that can easily fit in any modern girls closet, not just the Chanel girl. It is bridging where a very editorial look can also be very classic and classy. I especially love how he allows his modern look to be light and classic instead of dark and sci-fi. I can definitely see many a young hip asian girl eating up this collection

The ocean has been a recurring theme in Europe this season with Versace, Givenchy, and now Chanel...and I've never realized how kitschy the inspiration can be. Karl was smart to use subtlety in his garments, but it still felt too thematic. Givenchy brought the two disparate inspirations together with the use of swimwear cuts and lines, but I don't think Chanel was as successful. There are plenty of commercial pieces that will sell in no time, but I was far from blown away.
