I have the best “denim on denim outfit”. It is my split hem jeans with a “chamois ruffled shirt by Massimo” and my Red Tab Levi jacket. It looks beautiful. I get tons of compliments on it when I wear it. Denim on denim can be hard to pull off but that outfit looks perfect. Have a little “sandal purse” and my pointed toe ankle boots to match in cognac color. Nothing looks sweeter!

misshilaryv, I’ve always worn pearls in summer, they look fabulous with a fitted linen lined sheath dress or a pastel blouse. I will now try them with a pinstripe blouse and tailored denim; it will be a “reach” for me as I’ve always felt pearls to be uber-feminine, but it gives me a chance to wear them more. We’ll see! 😉

Hi. I love your channel. Lone the pearls. I am a fan of the casual sophisticated style and have ordered in the past from your links. I also just started following your IG page. I know you live where it is very cold but I do not. Layering is not an option as it is already in the upper 80'sºF here. Also, living in the south of the US is so casual I would be questioned as to what I was all dressed up for. Great tips. i wish i could wear a kitten heel, but they are uncomfortable on my flat feet. I love my pearls for sure. My wige leg and boot cut jeans are my favorite, but i love my flair legs with my snip toe western boots. Black and white is timeless for sure. Thank you. 😊

I love waistcoats with satin skirts....I need more waistcoats this summer. I wear boho skirts and slinky palazzo pants suits my life in the tropics, not a city look. sO I love both wasitcoats or blazers with these more relaxed bottoms they are really ME....always a fitted top with loose bottom or a loose top with straight pants and jeans..works best with my bpdy. ALWAYS honor your own shape and coloring whatever is "in" you can always find options.

In a few years we will look back at the trend of wearing sweaters as scarves on top of coats and jackets and laugh. What to do with the sweater when you arrive at the destination? If you want to wear a sweater at your destination but it doesn’t fit under your coat, wear it as a scarf!

I actually think it’s quite practical, you’re never afraid of being cold, and if you don’t need this extra layer you can always put it in your bag or just in a sleeve of your coat same as you do with a scarf. But I like this cosy wrapping on my shoulders, so I don’t mind wearing it inside)) it’s very personal of course, no pressure 😉

Forgie me, but where was the '"without buying anything new" part? I could understand if you showed pieces that you already had from years ago and demonstrated how to combinw them in a new way. But everything looks brand new and there was no combining/re-combining. Am I missing something?

I referred to pieces that are the most basic staples everyone already have in their wardrobe. Some of what I wore are actually quite old. The new ones are similar to what I wore out and replaced with new ones.

I disagree re shorter close jackets fitted to a small.petite body...no looking like Grandpa..in a couple of years we will laugh at this oversize look uncluding barrel trousers...makes everyone look bowlegged. After living at least double the number of fashion "seasons" many of us have seen past mistakes like these trends that beyond a season are NOT classics at all. Spending money on highly transient trends is a waste of money, you can dress far more elegantly on that money...I undertand influencers have to sell trends and young women fall for it constantly. I AM buying cashmere polo sweaters. I have. a lovely new one in light blue...I have never seen polo collared cashmere sweaters before only shirts ala Ralph Lauren but they are a nice addition to a cashmere sweater wardrobe.
