I feel like that every year too. I think what I've learned from doing this is to choose the designers I relate to the most and then narrow down what they are doing. So for me versus looking at everyone because it will be everything I look to Tory Burch, Brandon Maxwell, Chanel, Dior, Max Mara, Hermès and Erdem! But I have noticed that this year no one was doing high preppy style, grunge or oversized structured tailoring so that's something!

Yeah, I feel like coercing women into wearing skirts over pants is actually to benefit men who desire to wear skirts. They always try to get women to veer into mens' territory, but it's to benefit men who want to dress like women. In the same way I'm never going to strap a purse over my chest like a soldier carrying a rifle.

Here in Europe the second hand market is booming due to inflation and war, we have trouble paying rents and buying food, never mention how expensive the electricity bills are, here, as if nothing is happening, as if everything is perfect, peaceful and we have extra cash to splash. Thank you for this wonderful break-down and round-up on trends. I enjoyed the additional context and extensive imagery examples for each trend. As I was watching, something that really got me thinking was when you noted that "2025 is just about raising the bar" (about half-way through in the Sport-Luxe section), which I agree has truth, but what I really think is says is that creativity is not being exercised or demanded and rather that we're in a time as a global society of stalling or even regression. It makes me wonder why we aren't willing to be different to move forward and to let go of the comfortable cocoons so many people are living in. My perspective, it is important to note, as I'm pontificating on a globe that I is maybe the most diverse, and within each community so very divided, and also the largest to scale that we have ever been, therefore exacerbating that diversity - is of an adult woman in American living with privileges of middle-income wealth and whiteness. And for anyone triggered by the mention of "privilege", yesterday alone, I was asked by an adult woman from Canada if I was allowed to own a gun as a woman. I was baffled, but the thing is, we have laws which do impact women differently. When Roe v. Wade was removed, we went backwards in time on laws that only impact the mortality of certain people, and biological men's physical lives are not impacted. Our government now only recognizes two sexes, which erases people born biologically intersex. Some laws do affect people differently based on sex. It can't be impossible to think that more will continue to or that other rights that were established and we take a given, could also be overturned. And outside of laws, there is social opinions, and I shouldn't need to explain that judgement exists in human nature - as my 12+ years of Catholic school education taught me, it is how we handle those thoughts that matters. So talking about is okay, and needed. And that's what I realized by watching this video - that fashion really reflects what is valued and not valued in in society and by the capitalists that so often rule it. And so far, in this next year of our lives, it seems that the powers that be aren't saying much of anything aside from cashing in on the status quo that has been the recent years of our miserable lives for too many, as the power of the people across the globe has been rapidly usurped by self-indulgent, greedy, white, old men, starting with Donald Trump himself, who has mastered nothing more that marketing, and through his propaganda has inspired or made deals with like-minded megalomaniacs across the world to do the same to their publics. I've never ranted like this. I've never had to. The security of my freedom and safety of my fellow Americans has never been threatened from within this way. And what's more insidious is that Trump continues to attack even my freedom to think these things, as he has done such a good job at inciting blind obsession for himself by half of my country, and because of the global nature of the world, his reach goes beyond even that. So I'm here, "ranting" if you want, but stating what I have been seeing and experiencing with the half of America who does not accept the lies that Trump has unequivocally been found of since 2016 when his campaigning started reaching us all. Because his efforts were crude at first, but still potent, and now that he has found success again, he has brought on those other power-hungry individuals, with not only their knowledge, but their influence on others, their money - siphoned from us - all for themselves. Because as silly as he makes himself out to be, he is in control, not just with the power of the American president as we have known it since George Washington - because their loyalty was to The People. We're in new territory now. The road ahead is no longer going to be forged to make a better future for Americans and our allies... It is for them, and their betterment alone. We are here to serve with our dollars and our minds. And for the half that have been following in-step, the other half of us, feel the full weight of their threats, not just for us who are privileged like I am, but we choose to look at the full picture, which is that our luck can run out at any time, their rules can change any day, because we will have given them that power.

Oooh, I'm so excited now! I'm just getting back into fashion after a few years of nothing but oversized black shirts and black cargo pants (which can be cool, but it's feeling like a rut for me). I would always go for the timeless lady-like and soft feminine dressing. I hate wearing pinks but I’d definitely try blush or milky pinks for spring. Not sure about suede and sheers. Love that plaids and stripes still here to stay. The florals are nice too especially where I live where it’s always sunny!

I love that strips and plaids (I'm obsessed with plaid) are coming back. I am also excited about the floral trends with new neutrals and that beautiful power pink. Given that my hobby is sailing competitively, I have a great appreciation for vibrant stripes with solid navy or white pants. I'm envisioning medium size gold hoops with a thin gold wheat chain adorning a pink plaid shirt draped over a very soft power pink shirt with a pair of flowing English pink/rose floral pants and a pair white mule loafers with a gold cross bar. Yes ladies, plaid and florals do go together in a rich elegant way. Look up Ralph Lauren's china pattern "Hampton Floral" and you will see what I mean. Looking forward to sporting these fashions this spring as I have many of these in my closet. Happy 2025 for everyone!! May this year bless you all several times over.

I do think plaid is timeless. I was thrilled when I scored a plaid coat in a charity shop (thrift) recently which looks very much like one I saw online worn by an actress fashionista who’ve name I have forgotten. Now I’m on the hunt for a Chanel short jacket in pale shades of (I think is boucle) whether it’s ‘in’ or night. I plan to pair it with jeans and some kind of flat shoe (😊maybe even trainers/sneakers.

Very informative & fun … I’m not very trendy , I lean more towards classic , not to mention depending on your body type sometimes current trends may not work for all . I love plaid! To me it’s timeless … stripes are great but not always flattering…. But a pin stripe is always a staple … love florals / paisley if it’s done less like upholstery & more fashion like . Love stripes. They will always be in style. I will pass on the pants with showing legs and itsy bitsy shorts. I am 68 and Bermuda shorts are my go to. I will stick with my classics and the lady-like dressing. Most of the runway looks are for "show" only. It's the designer's artistic expression. How many people do you know wear these looks? Ralph Lauren does plaid so well. I think it is a lasting classic. I am glad I kept my two floral dresses. You did an incredible job on presenting the trends.
