Some ideas for the boots: call around to local cobblers to get an estimate for heel cap replacements, the shape might be more common than you think! Also for the inner lining part, you can purchase leather filler/leather repair kits fairly cheap! Another option would be to maybe apply some sort of fabric on top?
@mn.claude7 ай бұрын
I actually once had the inner lining of some shoes repaired. The cobbler used real leather to do so and it cost around 12-15€ (and the chunk was bigger than just that top edge of your boots). I am sure it won't be that expensive, you can just ask a cobbler and decide afterwards @beepworld :)

Okay, there are so many ways to fix the socks+ flat shoes thing: 1. Transparent socks exist. And these mesh socks sometimes come with a cut that will be completely covered by the shoe 2. Tights 3. Knee socks, maybe the longer format will look better But also, i think white socks with rooshes look amazing with these kind of flats!
@vohol61587 ай бұрын
Came also here to comment the same tip about socks in "tights material". I wear them a lot during the summer, it's a great solution for keeping your feet comfortable. (The shoes that were a little big without normal socks will probably still be too big with these since they're so thin, but you could amend by adding extra soles in the shoes. That is if you still want to keep them)
@angelaa.99156 ай бұрын
Also wanted to add: Soxsols. I think I heard about them from another KZbinr, but I use them as inserts for loafers, flats, even my Birkenstocks (so I don’t “ruin” the soles by darkening them with sweat), anything I don’t want to wear with socks
@astrophel875 ай бұрын
Also: there are gel inserts for support as well as adhesive heel inserts for shoes that are too large. Secondly: I started soaking my mesh shirts in cold water with a little detergent and hang drying them. The heat of a dryer seems to bake in the funk, haha. Hope this helps people! ❤

I repair vintage shoes for my Depop shop, and I can assure you that fixing that edge is not hard at all. I often encounter some vintage boots from the 90s and 00s with this issue. You will need sanding paper, heavy leather filler, and leather paint. Here’s what you can do: 1. Sand the faux leather layer off completely 2. Apply a layer or two of heavy leather filler, which you can buy online in small pack, so you don’t have to pay too much. Let it dry completely 3. Sand the new dried layer a little with a softer sanding paper for smooth texture 4. Paint over the edge. Make sure to choose self-sealing paint which means that the paint doesn’t need to be treated with leather finish afterwards as leather finish is already added to the paint. It secures the paint on the filler. The remaining product from the filler and the paint you can use for so many other shoes and bags, as you can repair scratches and tears with it. It’s generally good to have those products at home. Keep in mind that this advice is good only if a small area away from your feet is made of faux leather. If the whole lining is like that it won’t work. Also the result will not look like new leather, but it won’t flake and will look neat. Reading the reheeling of the shoes, I really doubt it would cost $80. The shape of the heel shouldn’t matter much, as the cobbler just can cut the new tip around the shape of the heel. I have dealt with cobblers for many years because of my vintage shop and it never was an issue. However asked the potential cobbler to show you some of their works, so you could see for yourself if they do their work properly (no weird gaps or wrong angled tips). And if a cobbler doesn’t reside in a city center or some fashionable area, the prices are usually lower. Last thing please don’t get rid of that pink bag, it looks gorgeous next to your hair 🔥

Here's an idea to potentially transform the white too boxy tank top? It would involve taking the ribbons off temporarily, but might be worth it! But basically taking the ribbions off, and then taking out some fabric in the front centre, kinda like a dart but not triangle just a rectangle? that way the tank top would be less boxy cuz it's a bit skinnier, and the armholes would sit flatter against your torso and not poke in your armpits! and you can but the ribbons back on at the end :) it might make the neckhole not as round, but perhaps the bow would also hide that? might be a thought

It’s sold in different stores, like craft stores or other places that sells tools and craft supplies or fabric (lindex also sells it now). It’s pretty cheap, and you just cut out a strip, iron it on and bam, you’re done. Some even have just glue so you don’t need an iron. You can even get fabrics that are smooth like leather. I like to use those for repairing holes in the heel of my shoes. Also, I think the irregular shape of the heel is not necessarily a problem, since they have to cut and sand down the heel caps anyway. the red mary janes are really cute, they look good with or without socks (also other types of socks and tights) they are not the typical preppy, delicate, classic mary janes, they fit more into the athleisure vibes that are trendy now, but problably it wont be in a few years the red plaid midi skirt is awesome, the plaid is so simple is basically a classic. The fit is extremely tendy right now (with the large band that cuts the hips) and fits you really nicely, for me thats nothing wrong with it the orange boots are amazing on you (when you showed first I gave nothing for it, but when you wore it: wow!) BUT if you don't see yourself wearing problably doesn't make sense to repair it though about the bags: if you really like the design is really easy to alter/add a different strap. the boxy white top is so easy to alter if you can sew, you can easily open more the armholes, if you want it less boxy you can take the side seams (then when you lift ur arms it wont raise beacause will be fitted) but if you want it loose you can add some ruffled (or pleated) white fabric on the hem (it can be short so it keeps the cropped shape, or long to turn into that kind loose peplum tops that's really trendy lately)

So it is comfortable against you upper leg, and doesn’t make the top of the boots too tight! You can use a glue that works on leather with a thin coat on each facing side. I think I heard you mention how often you don't like pink so I think the pink handbag is a dilemma. Maybe an option is to overdye the leather. Since the handbag is good quality it might be worth trying to change it to a color more usable to your wardrobe. Though I haven't tried this yet, but thinking of doing so on some items I have Also the white tank top could work with some more alterations. Just making the arm holes bigger and adding some bias tape to finish the edges. Also adding some darts from the bust to the hem would shape the top more to make it less boxy. Tapering the side seas to a slant could also fix it more. Then adding a ruffle or lace edge for the hem is always my go-to when something is too short For the silver loafer I could totally see it worn with knee-high socks or stockings ~ definitely a late 60s vibe, plus it's silver so it's mod and futuristic :D

You could try insoles in the silver flats. I've done that before in a shoe that was a bit too big and it fit better. I also found it helped with the sweaty foot issue too.

I love the orange boots! Get the heels fixed and wear boot socks with them to keep the flakes off your skin. Keep the boots!!!!

Maybe you can make the cardigan serve the same purpose as a long sleeve! Where it with a v-neck cami underneath and buttoned up or wear it buttoned but with the buttons in the back with the back as the front to change the neck line up

When I was younger, a lot of my purchase regrets were about chest size lol. E.g. Many mainstream clothing stores make certain smaller/strappier tops that are exclusively for A-B cups, so no matter how much you upsize, they'll never fit (Zara is particularly bad with this). Now I can spot these pieces from a mile away, but it's kinda funny thinking back on what I used to try to squeeze into 😆

For shoes that need socks for comfort, I like to use the crystal or glass socks that are transparent and have a pattern (just look it up and this will make more sense). The grid pattern ones especially are fun for print mixing. To me they help make visible socks look more intentional/styled. Also for the cardigan you could think about removing some or all of the sleeves. I've had a lot of thrift fails and sometimes it takes me months or even years to figure out how to flip them into something I will wear, though sometimes they're success stories once I get there. Good luck figuring it out!

Also for the flaking boots I bet you could literally just mod podge the inside and call it good

I think the red mary-janes are cute! They would look adorable with low ruffle socks. I'm also a huge fan of that red skirt, and don't think it looks punk at all. But in the end, it's how you feel and how it fits within your wardrobe. But it does look great!!

Boots! Glue a piece of fabric over the inside flaky part. Find a cool contrasting print on a firm fabric and voila! Problem sorted ☺️
