Join Massumeh Farhad, The Ebrahimi Family Curator of Persian, Arab, and Turkish Art and fashion designer Safoura Zoroofchi for a conversation about art and fashion in Persian culture in conjunction with the exhibition Fashioning an Empire: Safavid Textiles from the Museum of Islamic Art, Doha. Take a close look at the sumptuous seventeenth-century textiles and carpets from the exhibition as well as full-length portraits that depict elegant men and women wearing some of the fabrics. Then, hear how textiles continue to play a central role in contemporary Iran as Zoroofchi discusses current fashion trends and her own interest in patterns and motifs that echo Persian cultural traditions. The conversation is moderated by Simon Rettig, associate curator for the arts of the Islamic world.
Safoura Zoroofchi’s love affair with design started at a young age. She has always immersed herself in the world of art and creativity. She received her BA in Persian crafts from Al-Zahra University, Tehran, and her MA in illustration from Honar University, Tehran. A well-recognized Persian carpet and design specialist, she also studied textile design at the Saint Martin School of Design (University of Arts London). Over the past decade, she has participated in numerous groups and has held solo exhibitions in Tehran, London, and New York.

I stopped watching half way, Safoura was counting the words she is sharing. The title is intriguing but the content is disappointing

I stopped watching at 14". Seems like a presentation for bashing current status quo and the "patriarchy" rather than talking about fashion itself.
