I think since the bathroom is kind of a secret surprise little room, it would be really fun to do something super contrasting, like covering all the walls in a really bright or interesting wallpaper and super ornate mirrors and a dramatic chandelier or something? like a magical little secret jewelry box. and also helps give you background options in terms of your ig and blog photos

Think about moving your furniture away from the walls. It really makes a room feel opulent and cozy at the same time. Those of us with smaller spaces have to do spin-art furniture arranging but with your larger rooms you have so much more versatility. You’re doing a great job! It’s beautiful!

Hi Josie, I probably have commented twice on youtube. However I do see comments of "how costly some of your choices are whether it be a throw or coatigan" and although I couldn't afford this myself. I still do enjoy your vlogs and getting ideas and inspo on similar items and looks. My quest is finding similar ideas and inspo for something that is maybe more affordable to me and for that I thankyou. Just from another friendly Canadian girl.

It’s unlikely I would buy anything from Senreve, purely because of the price, BUT, I love seeing you get paid partnerships with brands like this, and I love seeing that when I click to have a look at the items that they’re sold out... I know they’ll pay others to promote their stuff too, but you obviously have a very financially diverse audience and I think it’s brilliant!

Hi Josie just watching the vlog.. One of the positive side of the lock down and restrictions I thought, that it has given you the opportunity to renovate your beautiful home. And another positive out of all this, is that you and Charlie have shared and included us all in the different stages of your journey, which gave us a positive attitude and I hope that we, your grateful audience has kept you and Charlie positive, what has been, so far a difficult year.. Love your vlogs x ps can't you use the mirror in the dressing room. X

Such much beautiful changes. Charlie's dressing room is so elegant. Love the color. The taps are so elegant & such an improvement in function. Love the idea of up-lights in the garden. Surprised Charlie didn't investigate solar lighting. I spent years troubleshooting outdoor lighting with wired-in systems. Finally chucked it all for solar & love it. I can relocate any spotlight wherever & whenever I want. Living in SW Florida they do stand up to lots of rain as well as intense heat. Just something to think about before you make an investment. Keep the updates coming. Love them.

Josie & Charlie, What a wonderful coincidence to have your furniture made bespoke by George Smith on Kings Row in London. We had our entire living room and Den "Knoll" Sofas and matching chairs made by them. Fabulous From the fabric to the fringe to the style of chair I always wanted, George Smith is the family go to. Sanreve Dragon Forest Green Maestro is my daily bag and I'm so glad to see a collaboration. Love & Respect

Oh ! We had almost the same in our old manor. Maybe not from the same seller ? I don't know. Sofas and matching armchairs in damask wild silk with fringe. It was so beautiful. I still miss it. It must be wonderful in your living room. I am not a aristocrat like you are, my father was a judge. And he lived in UK for many years during the second mondial war. He was an officer in artillery. I am sorry i don't really speak english, i can't say what i want, i say what i can. But your comment touched me.

The refrigerator needs to stay on all the time. The one in the snug. Certain beverages will “skunk” if you go cold then hot then cold then hot. Beer will definitely do that.
@outinarizona4 жыл бұрын
Confirmed! If you have items in the fridge, it needs to be on always. It draws more power in initial startup than keeping it on all the time and will take more time to cool the fridge and then cool whatever you're putting in it.

Your home is gorgeous and I love your dressing room! As an antique collector I have many mirrors that have the black spots. I find the character of those pieces so much more interesting and if anyone ever said they were "dirty" looking, I'd be highly offended and would probably never invite them back. We all have different tastes but we never need to be rude stating them, especially when it is personal style. Personal being the key word. Have a beautiful day.

Yea! Charlie finally gets to move into his wonderful wardrobe! I’m anxious to see a tour once everything has found a home... or better yet, the process of things finding a home! I really enjoy the thought processes on how people organize. It can be a great source for inspiration! I love your coatigan! Looks chic and cozy belted or not! A glorious snuggle piece for your wardrobe! Something that could be fun and functional is to get some body suits the color of some of your favorite shoes and wear it under that jumper that has the exposed area/tie in the back. It’ll keep you warm and be a surprise pop of color coordinating with your shoes or handbag! Something a little unexpected and above all... much warmer! Go neutral or a pop of burgundy to go with those burgundy lace-up boots! Or the same brown tone as your YSL boots! Having a section of exposed bare back makes me cold just seeing it! 🥶😉😊☺️ I’m such a fan of tufted upholstery with a turned leg! Fabulous!!! I have a few tips you might find helpful... If you are worried about the small casters doing damage to your wood floors, most hardware stores should have little rubberized furniture leg coasters about the size of those small wheels. No more worries! I hope the chairs came with arm covers so you can take all your fabric samples out to find decor pieces, cushions or if you run into some large, stunning piece of art, you can imagine it in the best space! If no arm covers, I’m sure you can request a fabric sample from the manufacturer. It’s very handy to slip each room’s samples in a clear page protector and have a binder you can just grab and go! Making note of measurements for each room is also so helpful when shopping... especially in antique stores, always take a measuring tape! Basic room dimensions are great, but specifics like the space above the fireplace or wall space between the windows, or on each side of the fireplace... even between electrical outlets or just beyond the light switch, so furniture pieces or artwork doesn’t encroach upon off-limit spaces! But measurements you can easily access from your phone makes shopping a much more confident experience! 😏☺️😊

Hi Josie (my great-grandmother's name and I love it), Because our house is cool year round (a preference), each evening at bedtime, my husband slips a hot water bottle under the sheets for my feet and I don't think I could sleep without it now. Also, in another video, you asked about Americans and tea kettles. I have cherished my Simplex Heritage for many years and use it every day. And Chef Charlie (my husband is a good cook, too :), when landscaping, invest in permanent, year-round, low or no maintenance evergreens which look spectacular under a snow fall when nothing else does and gives the house and property a stunning, "lived-in", classic dignity. Many, many years ago, when we bought this property, I made evergreens a priority and we have hundreds - different cultivars, sizes, shapes, hedges, etc. - and even though I put in many different kinds of huge gardens (cottage, formal English rose, fruit and nut orchards, vegetable, sun, shade, a winding meadow which the wildlife love), the evergreens will always be my favorites and of which I'm most proud. Cheers and take care.

I made a comment the other day about kettles, Simplex rang a bell.. that's what I have in my cupboard! Its been tucked away for years and I thought my KitchenAid was expensive at $325.... to replace the my Simplex Kensington would be $480! I'm in shock....😮

I love your house and garden and I'm enjoying following along as you decorate. I, like a few other viewers, would suggest you pull your beautiful chairs away from the walls. You are not showing them off crammed into corners or up against walls. That includes the chairs in the bedrooms. Perhaps try placing the lovely chair in your master bedroom casually in front of your dressing table and not against the wall. Also think about proportions when purchasing furniture and rugs. Big rooms need big pieces and big accessories. Also as another viewer suggested, think about placing your furniture in groupings based on how you want to use the rooms. Have you thought about asking for help from a decorator with furniture placement? Your dressing rooms are beautiful and how lucky you are having so many beautiful clothing pieces.
