please keep these videos for bigger teams up. I coach a u14 team that is aiming for a championship, but we only have two baskets so its always a problem to make sure everybody gets to play! Do you have any tips on how to teach a motion offense by using drill's?

@@bombie5549-c7j the best way to work on motion is to build up from small sided drills to half court and then live play. Work on reading screens, setting screens, and passing. Then work in small sided situations like 3 on 3 or 4 on 4. Then build up to half court 5 on 5 and really correct mistakes. Then lastly go up to 5 on 5 full court. Don’t be afraid to stop and correct during live situations.

play off concepts and principles in U14, react to the dribble, react to the pass, connect all moments of the game, transition offense, trans. defense, organized offense, org. defense. Always play in every moment, don't switch off. Same principles that apply to transition offense apply to organized offense and same goes for defense. Play simple, create gaps, create an advantage (numbers or positional in 1on1 situation), and either make the advantage or keep the advantage alive. This is basketball for U14. Simple and TEACHING the game.

Great drill! One Question though. After watching a few times, I have not been able to determine what exactly determines which two players out of the five involved in the transition, remain on defense.

@@ktsenior1 we normally have two players that were on offense go to defense, but they have to communicate or hustle to those defensive spots.

This is a great classic drill, we use this a lot. Basically rotation is self-regulated, but a fair way is for two of the three guys on offense to stay on defense after a basket or a rebound, and the other one goes out to the sideline.
