Definitely something I’m going to give a try. What hunter doesn’t have extra paracord laying around, super fast set up! Big 👍 from me.

Made mine from paracord on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. I'm loving the results. Thanks for this information brother !!!

Thanks, that looks awesome. I’ll have to give it a try. I use the soft side of self sticking Velcro and stick it to back of my limbs about a couple inches below my loops. Seems to quiet it down quite a bIt.

I dunno what I did wrong, but my bow still vibrates terribly after putting these in 🤷♂️ and the strands keep trying to pull out as I shoot, maybe need more than 12-14 twists in my string?

I add 7 inch pieces and I love it. Use to be a fur strip silencer but the paracord is cheap and easier.

Swapped out my Navajo wool (DIY Yarn version) for the 550 cord. Obviously I can’t tell if they’re quieter, but.....my POI moved UP 2” @ 20yds. No Chrono to confirm but that sure smells like an increase in arrow speed. Also.....listened to the Kavanaugh episode today....it would be SPECTACULAR if you guys could travel up there and get him set up with some go-pros on his head and bow and do some wing-shooting!

I've been thinking about using paracord for string silencers. Thanks for the video and the info

Gee wiz, talk about handy! Thanks for that!

I use home made wool silencers and have found that you can trim the puff ball down and they are still pretty effective. My wool silencers are about 1/2 the diameter of your originals. For waterproofing I use something similar to the dry fletch powder. I bought a bag from Amazon and it will last me for all my needs.😉

I will give that a try!

I wonder if you sprayed the sheathing with some silicone oil before hand to make it more water resistant
@tylerparker30245 жыл бұрын
It's already water resistant
@ericbaumgartner57425 жыл бұрын
been doing that for 15 years , but i keep the center as well as sheathing and then only one 3" piece per side. Within 5 shots it frays itself . and secure it through the bow string with dental floss.
@henrikdonschristensen90405 жыл бұрын
Or - Use quality wool, it has an natural content of lanolin which makes it waterrepellant 🙂

Possibly a dumb question, but what are those leather pads on your bow for? Im pretty new to archery and have only seem there here, on this stalker its the black leather pad with orange stitching

Great Job on the video my friend, which stalker is that? I have been looking at stalker bows for a while now, they sure look like great bows. Curious what bow you have and how you like it, as well as customer service after the sale, if you have even needed any.? Dale

You have like from me for effort. I don't see point, wool is super good and also easy to install. Measuring how much is heavy, well that is new level of .... . Never mind, good job

Would it work well to tie a bundle of the paracord pieces in the center with some serving to keep it a tight ball before installation or is that unnecessary?

Been using these for a while. I found that I still need to serve them in, otherwise they will come out pretty easily when unstrung.
@Habitatti4 жыл бұрын
You gotta get yourself a string holder, buddy. I had the same problem in the past, but the light tension that the string holder provides keeps them in place. If I've understood correctly serving in silencers will shorten the string's lifespan. Dunno if it's a myth and doesn't apply to modern string materials, though.
@r.parker19334 жыл бұрын
@@Habitatti, first I've heard that, but I'm game. What are string holders?
@Habitatti4 жыл бұрын
@@r.parker1933 Easier than to explain: www.3riversarchery.com/buy/bows/bow-strings/string-keepers Nothing new, but I've noticed a lot of people don't know about these. I'm starting to think that the serving thing is some old wives tale.

Do you tie them in place or does the twist in string hold them in place

This is my question. I’ve had one fly out of the bow string upon shooting. I must be doing something wrong.

I have an endless loop bowstring can you help with that? It falls out whenever I shoot
@nchrist4ever5604 жыл бұрын
Thank you
@boxertechnical5 жыл бұрын
I don't know if it's just that my string is less twisted than yours or shooting 30lbs but when I tried this the Paracord wouldn't stay in the string. The ones next to the top limb all came out while shooting. I don't want to put more twists in because I'm already at max brace height though it currently has only about 10 shots on the string. None of this is critical at this stage because of how green I am but is there anything besides serving them in I could do to make this work for me?
@seandepoppe67164 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you have a different type of string. No biggie you can attach it to the string with a serving knot.

Tried this and thought it was 1) ugly ( hey, looks count) and 2) not effective. Back to wool, which is also cheap if you buy it in the sewing section.
