This recurring sketch is now an interesting piece of history. Like all good satire, it reflects reality. Fast Forward ran from 1989 to 1992, and the period 1989 to 1991 under Gorbachev the Soviet Union became more liberalised with Western culture seeping through, until it finally collapsed.
