Here is another track from my latest ep, volume 1.
This song is a story about my time working in a residential home though out lockdown.
My experience in this job was a struggle at times and my coping mechanism was writing it down.
Out come these songs, I write with a friend Chris, we have many songs.
my story - fast forward.
I was taking care of a lady one day when visiting was not an option it was just come to the window and say hi.
My lady I was caring for had dementia and other illnesses at the time but she was going down hill fast at this point. Her family members came to the window, her daughter says hi it’s me mam.
But my lady didn’t recognise her daughter and found it upsetting as she didn’t know her folks looking back at her. This really was an awful experience, as a mum myself I found it heartbreaking.
After many chats with others in the residential home, they all explained ruffly the same feeling.
If there to get old, we’ll let’s hurry it up and start again, when they come back they’ll be young again. Others would say, I remember my younger days my family days out, or some would forget daily tasks but remember how to play an instrument. This illness is something I’d never come across before but now I’ve experienced it I feel it’s ok to share with you.
I found comfort in my story and lyrics, I hope you do too.
Fast forward is I want to get this life done and go back to start again, a fresh.
Available on all platforms now.
Thanks for watching
