Join Noreen for tips to make your scrapbooking faster than ever before using Fast2Fab™ Refill Pages.
Here are her 10 Tips for using Fast2Fab™ Refill Pages:
1) Sort your pages as you are sorting your photos and re-arrange the order of the pages in the album if necessary. You don’t have to keep them in the order they come loaded in your album! If you are a chronological scrapper, this step will give you the best chance to make sure the pages work your photos in the order you want to use them.
2) Arrange your photos on each refill page whatever way you like. If you fear a blank page and worry about how your photos will look prior to adhering them down, there are two tools I recommend using:
a. CM’s Photo Mat Stencil Set which is a set of three reusable mylar stencils that can help you arrange and place your photos on the page (see product at www.creativeme...)
b. Create some DIY photo templates Cut scrap cardstock into various photo sizes that you tend to use (4 x 6, 6 x 4, 31/2 x 5 ½, 4 x 4, 3 x 4 etc.) and label them with the size. Arrange these cardstock templates on the page in a manner that is pleasing to you and then adhere your photos in the same arrangement!
3) Keep the margins/spaces between your photos the same size for a visually appealing design. Also keeping the edges of your photos even (eyeline) provides a clean, uncluttered look that is easy for the viewer to look at.
4) Don’t be constrained by the design elements that are printed on the pages themselves. It is totally OK to have your photos and embellishments overlap any borders or blocks of decorative areas!
5) Adhering unmatted photos, a few embellishments and journaling directly on the page is THE quickest way to get a page/layout complete!
6) Don’t be afraid to insert extra plain Refill Pages, other coordinating Fast2Fab™ Refill Pages or even Multi-Pocket Pages in between the Fast2Fab™ Pages to accommodate more photos.
7) If there is a portion of a pre-decorated page that you DON’T like, “wallpaper” over all or part of it with coordinating Designer Paper. Add your photos etc. on top of that paper instead.
8) Get the coordinating Variety Mat Pack cards because they are SO versatile! They can be used in place of a photo to fill in an area where you don’t have another photo to add; they can be used as titles or embellishments; you can instantly mat your photos to make them stand out from the printed background pages; you can cut them apart and tuck them behind photos for more interest; you can journal on them. They are indispensable!
9) If you love to play with tools and create a more layered look, punch shapes or border with your CM tools from coordinating Designer Paper and add them to your layouts for a truly customized page!
10) Rethink your philosophy if needed. If you have been hesitant about using Fast2Fab™Refill Pages because you don’t think they will match your photos as well as you might be able to when you are selecting from a wide variety of products and creating individual pages, then reframing it as “Done is better than perfect” might help. Remember that your family and friends will be thrilled to look through a completed album and won’t even notice the little things that perhaps you didn’t think were perfect! Let go and get ‘er done!
