How is it still successful after eight films and 16 years? The method is simple: tweak the story, up the ante on stunts, bring in legit action stars that are charismatic, keep the director’s chair fresh, and constantly change locations. In other words, you keep replacing the engine and wheels while assembling new body parts on the car. #F9 #PJExplained
In the #FastAndTheFurious movies, there have been lots of wild stunts over the years that leave fans wondering how the franchise has gone from street races to something straight out the Mission: Impossible movies. Paul Walker's Brian has run off a bus as it fell off a cliff, Vin Diesel's Dom jumped across highways, Dwayne Johnson's Hobbs held a helicopter by a chain, and that's not even the half of it. When it comes to vehicles, it gets even wilder, as cars have jumped off cliffs and boats, leapt from building to building and outran planes, submarines and missiles. Well, come F9, the franchise introduces its most ridiculous concept yet and makes the team's cars true weapons of mass destruction.
