I drove an '88 5.0 GT when the first movie came out. I wanted to go sit outside the theaters and watch the teenagers run out and rip away in mom's Buick after seeing the movie. lol I actually went to take pictures of a car on my college campus for riceornot.com and the owners frat buddies took offense. They followed me yelling at me until they saw me get into the Mustang. Then they stopped and went back. lol

I want to give massive props to the stunt driver in that rig with the lifted trailer. That thing had to be funky to pull at speeds. I was a lot porter at a RV dealership/service center. Dude came in with his fifth wheel hooked to his very lifted truck. Kept blowing out the rear bearings due to the angle it was at. His solution was an eight inch block lift. I hated pulling that thing around after the lift. Was scary to turn because it was now much more top heavy.

Trust in thy tape measure. The civics under the tractor trailer. I loved that part and I’m a car guy. Just because it wouldn’t have happened IRL doesn’t mean it’s not entertaining as hell. The plot of “Fast & Furious” is the same plot as the original “Point Break”. I figured this out less than halfway through watching it at the theater. So much so that the people I went with got pissed that I kept calling out what was going to happen next. I love both of these movies though, they’re about as realistic as “StarWars” but they’re great.

No , we were eyes open sharing stories showing off customization of our personal vehicles that doesnt exist today Craig thank you for all you did for the import community for the work on ff franchise and 20 years later posting videos of your stories specs behind the scenes and what we see is what we should be doing as a society today develop relationships that last 20 + years thank you and look forward to all future videos !!!

I went to a cruise in about a year ago and it was so disappointing, I have a Civic DX with a few bolt ons so nowhere as sweet as your EM1 but the atmosphere sucked, super cliq-y with most people glued to their phones. Fun fact: the red tool chest in the garage had a "Hose Techniques" sticker on it and can be seen 39min 54sec (netflix version) behind Mia holding the clipboard. This company played a huge role at the time developing some of the if not best t bolt hose clamps that tuners needed to keep intercooler pipes from blowing apart at high boost pressure levels. I still have some of these clamps on my old mk3 Supra :)

At 12:50, that composite plate shot of the Supra and Charger with no train in the background- I have that shot here on DVD. The very first public DVD release of the movie in (I think) 2002 includes a lot of "lost" extra footage in the extras section. About 40 minutes worth. These early DVDs are extremely hard to find now. Mine even has a prototype F&F drag racing game on the DVD, if you load the DVD into a computer as a hidden extra function. You can race the Supra and Charger in a little 2D animated grudge match kinda thing.

When the first movie came out I was 17 and I drove a bright red 1990 integra RS. I was already into tuner cars at the time but I didn't realize the scope of the scene back in 2000-01. My friends and I had collectively the integra, 1991 Celica GT, and the best of the bunch which of course at the time we had no idea was my best friends 1991 Sentra SER. But with exception of us there was maybe 5 other tuner cars in the parking lot of the theater and at my high school there was one kid with a lightly modified 1999 Civic EX automatic and another kid with a VTec del sol and that was it at the time. After the first movie things blew up. When I went to the theater for 2F2F I had since traded up to a 1988 FC RX7 vert, it was black with bright red corbeau Forza seats, enkie 5 spoke wheels, T2 hood, KYB AGX struts, Eibach springs, suspension techniques sway bars, and the all important 50 shot dry NOS system lol, my best friends had also traded up in one case and down in the other, my buddy with the Celica traded up to a bright red 1991 300zx n/a 2 seater with some cheap 18 inch wheels and a wings west front bumper, and my friend with the SER traded down to a 1989 CRX So that we swapped a LS motor into and gave it a full polyurethane wings west mugen knock off kit and rota slip stream wheels... My friend with the CRX had more money than us thanks to a insurance settlement which we promptly wasted building the CRX. But not only had we gone a new a direction after the first film but so had my town, at the premier of the second movie there had to have been over 150 tuner cars in the parking lot mostly civics and integrals but I remember a supra and a nsx that night but the point is these movies no matter how bad they were they changed our lives and changed car culture in general in a huge way. Thank you for these videos they bring back great memories and answer questions I've had for 20 years.

There was a movie called "Redline" that came out around that time. And I remember seeing commercials where they were announcing open auditions for the movie. I wonder if the movie is related to Fast and Furious.

According to the list at 14:20, there are 2 EX models, a 94 & 95. Even though their VIN list, (that they talk about) only shows 1 as having a moonroof, the list shown on screen shows what would have been 2 as that was one of the standard features of the EX trim.

Very interesting. All car guys loved The Fast and The Furious. Ironically I've had a couple of Skylines (they were cheap in my country before they were legalised in the US...) , a Supra , A Jetta, Civic, RX7 but no Eclipse 😣

19.22 - I actually like those rejected first design graphics. If they were red & blue with black lines, they could make a Spiderman theme. Thank you for the work you've done on the movies, and even more so on these videos.

Just asking as a car guy... Where did you come up with the line in the first movie when they were talking over Vince's Nissan Maxima "just tune the nos pounder and it'll run 10's." A Nissan Maxima running 10's would be like winning a nascar race on a bicycle. It's not happening today let alone with tech from 20 years ago.

This is probably the movie I've thrown the most money at. I remember going to the theater at least twice, and then buying the DVD. I don't know why, never done that before, or since. I just had to. Great stuff.

You need to upload this lost footage in full and narrate what’s seen on screen and tell little stories about what we are looking at.. you could do hours and hours of content like that and we’d love to see it, these small clips aren’t enough

Awesome video Craig, but for everyone out there don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system.

To echo someone saying your videos aren't too long.. they aren't! I love that I can put it on and just listen and not have loads and ads breaking it up. Only thing, you might be losing money. You break up a, hour long vid into 6 parts, you could possibly have 6X more ad revenue. Thank you for not doing that, but I understand if you start to haha.
