Tom Hoye renowned for the development of 5 fin boards here in the West. "Da Claw" he would call them and he rode nothing else. He would have loved to see this clip. R.I.P.

@@danscotttt I will try to dig some up from my archives..I did spend a fair bit of effort documenting Tom and his factory where and when I could. I still have probably half a dozen 5 fin boards (glassed on fins), and a few others, plus a few bits of memorabilia. Just finding the time is the hard bit.

The speed in which he was surfing was super impressive, in comparison to all the other surfers out there. To be expected I guess!

This is that same Webber from a few years back, correct? I'm surprised he never followed up with this board. He was killing it.
@danscotttt2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I originally shot this back in 2020, I believe the board idea first started with just Adam Robbo. Webber has released it as his own model the "Electra" - not sure if it will ever become of the Slater range though?
@webbersurfboards2 жыл бұрын
It was an idea that I just came up with and sent a pic of the board after I shaped it to Adam and to Kelly saying that I think I might have come up with something interesting. It wasn’t based on any feedback previously. I was just trying to create the loosest fastest thing possible without the need for much foot movement

@ 1:28 you can see how up front the fins are. Talk about LOOSE ! ! ! Perfect for shoulder high rip waves. I am still fuming from the judging last week at Bells...... I stopped watching the whole thing afterwards.
