Okay. That makes sense. You're basically doing the same equation side by side instead of on top of each other. My way is also easy; Drop the 1 because 1 is easy to multiply by. So, it's 23 × 2 = 46. Now 1 × 23 = 23 So, its 46 _? 46(23)? No. 4(6+2)3 = 483 Each equation you much find the easiest math and utilize your familiarity to solve quicker.

BIG BRO TIP : if the number your adding in the middle of the number is a 2 digit number like e.g 23x23 and we get 6 + 6 (12) just add the 1 in 12 to the first digit (in this case 4) replace that 4 into a 5 and theres your answer 529. Hope this helps ;)

Actually is explained in school if you pay attention (a+b)*(c+d) = a*c + a*d + b*c + b*d In this example: 23 * 21 = (20+3)(20+1)= 20*20+20*1+3*20+3*1= 400 + 20+60 + 3 = 483

For those who didn't get for any other no Ex:- 23×32 it does 2*3=6(first digit) Last digit is 2*3=6 In the middle 2*2=4 3*3=9 So 4+9=13 Then the middle digit is 3 Now the 1(in 13) you add with the first digit 6 So the final answer is "736" 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃

Unfortunately this method does not work for multipying all double digit numbers. Example. Using this method to multiply 26x26 would be 42,436 instead of the correct answer 676.
