I´m not a mechanic and I do the much as I can on my cars as a hobby. I had several Sprites and Midgets and I currently I have an OEW 1960 sprite MK II Sprite that I completely restored about 30 years ago and two projects to do: a 1967 1275cc wire wheel Midget and a 1970 Sprite MK IV. I have been following your videos of the series “MG Midget 1275 The Birth of a Racecar” and I find them very useful and instructive. I like them very much. In this video you talk about a remote bleeding system for the clutch master cylinder that is much easier than bleeding the slave cylinder from under the car. It would be helpful to show the system and its assembly. Thanks for the teachings you offer to youtubers. Cheers👍

I had 6 of these back in the 1980s... my favorite was the late 62 / 1098.... old English White with a red top and interior. It ran so much stronger after the 1275 upgrade! Love your channel..

@5.15, it is a good idea to loosen the fill plug first, in case it is seized or rounded. That way, you find that out before you immobilise the car by draining diff & gear oil. Just a top tip!

They are not the best but its actually more solid than the exterior lets on. Now its had a proper respray its a great little car to play in. thanks for watching

How many hours did this take? Sounded like a fair amount to do I imagine it started to rack up

Yep, id guess at 60-80 hours all up. Its easy to lose a day when you get started. the skill is getting all your parts purchased and lined up in advance to save time.

@@mgmidget-thebirthofaraceca4349 my midget needs some modernisation and refreshing. I want to pollybush it and maybe fit some performance suspension components to limit the body roll. This shouldn't take too long should it?

A full polybush kit and uprated suspension parts - Id be budgetting 2 days (15-20 hrs) but appreciate we all have differing experience and garage setups. This assumes the front rear spring hanger comes off without a fight and My advise would be to have all new pivot bolts ready to go so worst case you can cut them off and replace. good luck with the upgrade.
