Fast Sail to Corsons Inlet and the Atlantic Ocean with a 1 year old pup on a Hobie Tandem Island

Fast sail on a Hobie Tandem Island sailing kayak.
Sail from Sea Isle City (Lundum Bay) to Corson Inlet and the Atlantic Ocean.
Speeds topped out at 10 mph in a few segments.
Had my 1 year old Westie coming along as crew - learning his sea legs in the Atlantic swells. My pup did well overall but did get cold and wet near the end. Need to install some splash guards for a bit drier ride.
The video also shows launching and retrieving the Hobie Tandem Island (TI) on the boat ramp.

Jim, which Nav/GPS do you have on the boat?

I use the ECHOMAP™ Plus 64cv with Preloaded BlueChart® g3 charts with integrated Navionics® data for the coastal U.S. I like the bit larger screen (for my eyes). Works great. I have put in a few mods to provide additional protection from the salt water.

What is your power set-up? Battery in the hull with wires feeding up?

@@chrishix6796 Use 12V battery in water resistant case mounted just in front of the v brace with access via the front hatch. Run the wires inside the hull to the Hobie supplied outlets in the mesh pockets. Works great.
