2:13 - Since I happened to read their article first, AnandTech mentioned (don't know if I can link it here due to YT's filtering) the controller is called Samsung Pablo and their review units had the following layers: 1TB - 512Gbit 128-layer 3D TLC NAND (same as on the 2TB 980 Pro) 500 GB - 256 Gbit NAND 256 GB - 92-layer TLC (as on the 970 Evo Plus) Otherwise great review. I recently upgraded the SSD in my HP Elite X2 1012 G1 2-in-1 Tablet PC from the 256GB Toshiba XG3 SSD to the 1TB Samsung 980 SSD. My 2-in-1 tablet runs on an Intel Core m7-6Y75 Dual-Core CPU at 1.20 GHz (up to 3.10 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 Technology), with 8GB RAM. From my experience, the Samsung SSD generates less heat than the Toshiba SSD, thus making my system less prone to overheating.

I just bought two of the 1 TB drives. The best performance I've ever seen out of my computer. The two drives replaced an old Intel 535 480 GB SSD that was used for my OS and some games and a 2 TB spinning HDD. Some people may say they aren't worth it but in my case it was :P I'm loving how everything works so much better on my PC from the Twitch app not lagging at all to loading into GTA online in around half the time and world of warcraft not taking over a minute for all the details to load in.

No DRAM, uses HMB so it's like Samsung's notebook NVME drives like the PM991. Write speeds could slow down by a lot once the SLC write cache gets filled up, it happens with the 980 Pro also.

It might work but I would recommend you stick to Sonys minimum specs, so a decent gen4 ssd at least.

whats the average life of an ssd while gaming or doing lite stuff? Wonderful Video btw❤

Base on the specific type that you use, but most of them have a considerable life span. For instance, I have a NVMe 250GB Lexar - a very cheap SSD, its TBW (Total Byte Written) is 125TB. If I write 100GB of data into it every day (I don't think anyone would do this that often), it's gonna take 1250 days (more than 3 years) before you need a new one.

Many years. Not something to really worry about. Ssds can break randomly too though, it's rare but it happens so you always need a backup anyway.
