Eric Stoltz was in a movie called Mask with Cher about a disfigured teenager, and he was the original Marty McFly in Back to the Future. They filmed him through a good percent of it and recast him with Michael J. Fox. Fox was the first pick, but he was in contract with Family Ties and when they did not like Eric's portrayal of Marty, they negotiated a deal with the show and Michael had to shoot in the day with the TV show and night with the movie. There are still some offside shots of Eric in the film. When Marty hits Biff in the diner you only see his hand do the punch. That is Eric's hand that did that

Classic 80s Flick that really kicked off the 10 year 80s Party!! The Sherman Oaks Galleria was one of the most famous and popular malls back in the 80s because it was so modern and futuristic looking compared to the other malls that we as kids grew up with in the 70s! I even worked a holiday job there a couple times and I really loved that mall! Unfortunately they tore it down in the 2000s I believe and utterly homogenized it by making it into an outdoor mall that looked like everything else. It used to be so unique and have some class about it too. My favorite scene in this movie has gotta be the Pizza in class scene. Mr. Hand has been in a lot of movie's but became a Celebrity while starring in an early 1960s sitcom called "My Favorite Martian". Nice reaction vid!

Love your reactions Jay! New subscriber. The things you notice and how you come across in your reactions are the type of reactions I want to see. (I was 22 when this movie came out and at the time, this was THE movie everyone just had to see. Great laughs and the story was true to the times.)

@@JayBondReacts You get a reprieve. I wasn't sure what song to link. In the 89s they had a big balad hit These Dreams that Nancy sings but I'm the worst judge of people's age so I went with Baracuda thinking that ones stood the test of time.

One thing this film captured really well was teenagers and the social life at malls back in the 80's. This film was a must see for an entire generation. Also Jennifer Jason Leigh's dad was actor Vic Morrow who was a long time film actor but what happened to him around this time was really messed up! Changed the film industry.
@JayBondReacts2 жыл бұрын
Oh wow, I actually had no idea! I just saw Vic in Humanoids from the Deep not too long ago. But yeah, that was terrible. I saw an episode of Cursed Films talking about the Twilight Zone accident and it's heartbreaking.

Dude...everyone should check out Jennifer Jason Leigh in a wicked killer drama/crime thriller entitled "Rush" In it her character is hand picked by her soon to be partner, then pulled out of the police academy to work as a narc. Her partner is a very dark and experienced undercover cop. They work the drug scene in a small Coastal town in Texas. It has a powerful storyline and superb acting. The surprise plot twist at the end was unexpected, but, supremely satisfying. It is well worth watching for the first time or the 10th. Thanks for this little reminder of one of my yesteryears. Keep em coming. Shoutout from the mountains of East Tennessee. See ya on the next. Peace. Later.

If you want to see the first high school comedy I recommend Rock and Roll High School from 1979. It stars PJ Soles in her first starring roll. It also features the Ramones and Clint Howard as the school hustler. This is my all time favorite high school movie. Yes Grease can be considered a high school comedy but this is more fun.

Jennifer Jason Leigh is in some great stuff to check out. Single White Female, with Bridget Fonda Flesh + Blood, with Rutger Hauer, directed by Paul Verhoeven The Hitcher, also with Rutger Rush (1991), with Jason Patric And eXistenZ, with Jude Law, directed by David Cronenberg

Sweet list, thanks! I've always wanted to see Single White Female because I remember it being referenced a lot back in the day. The Hitcher is the only one I've seen there but I was on the set of eXistenZ and potentially met her? I don't know. Some of it was filmed at my buddy's trailer park and we hung out there as like 13 year olds. 😂

The director of "Fast Times at Ridgemont High", Amy Heckerling also directed "Clueless" with Alicia Silverstone.. I saw you pointed out actor Eric Stoltz in the film and a lot of comments here say yeah he was in this movie and that movie but I am surprised nobody commented how he was in "Pulp Fiction".. he was John Travolta's drug dealer in "Pulp Fiction" he's the guy Travolta got the heroin from and it was his house he took Uma Thurman to when she was ODing from the heroin and had to put the adrenaline needle in her chest.. actor Anthony Edwards that you pointed out you remember from "Top Gun" as Goose was also in the original "Revenge of the Nerds" as Gilbert were he was one of the 2 lead nerd characters and eventual Fraternity Leaders.. one more Easter egg I'll throw out there is the attempted robber at the end of Fast Times is actor James Russo who was also in "Beverly Hils Cop" playing the friend of Eddie Murphys that gets murdered and why Eddie goes to Beverly Hills, another role he's memorable in is he was one of the slave traders in the beginning of "Django Unchanined", when the bounty hunter liberates Jamie Foxx.. he was the slave trader that got stuck under the horse when the horse fell on top of him after the bounty hunter shot the horse in the head.

Thanks for all of this! You've reminded me I should watch Pulp Fiction again soon. Probably haven't seen it in like 10 years. I'm kickin myself at not catching the robber being from Beverly Hills Cop because I believe that was the movie I watched right before this one. It's hard to remember new faces for me. I'm typically okay at remembering faces I've seen a few times though.
