Were your recommenders from UK? They have to be? I would apply as a "Researcher or Academic" and within the "Organismal, Evolutionary and Ecological Science, including soils and agriculture" branches.

Do you know why the healthcare surcharge is 1000 instead of 600 now? Applying for 5 years for me and my wife visas is 10 000 pounds, that is crazy!
