That was my biggest regret in life I never flew on this great areoplane. Saw it so many times fly near and over where I used to live, there was always something magic about it. So sad it doesn't fly anymore and just remember memories when it used to.

It is kinda sad looking at all the amazing aircraft operating out of Heathrow at that time, the Concorde, BA 747s and none of them remain. One killed off by fuel prices and a tragic accident, and the other by a cursed virus.

An excellent and fascinating video ofby far the most beautiful aircraft ever produced. Only one slight quibble: It is not faster than the sun, rather it is faster than the rotation of the earth! I have been on Concorde a number of times, including ones that have departed Heathrow in the early evening, enabling us to see the sun rising in the west!

Captain Walpole was the face of BA Concorde, until he landed one on fumes in Heathrow. The plane was so light on fuel, it was exhausted while taxiing in. Also the FO Christopher Orlebar had written a comprehensive volume about Concorde. It's a recommended read.

Wonderful treat this video.Shame about the last audio got clipped about comparing how the 747 which departed 10 minutes earlier than the Concorde was very near but not quite (crossed the Atlantic Ocean?)

That expantion gap behind the control Panel, caused by heat, is where some Captains put their cap's, at the end of their last flight, So that after landing , the Concorde shell would cool off and shrink, and the Gap would close, trapping their Caps, for ever.

Very interesting video. The markings too, there's one on the cockpit: the Speedbird sign, it says: British, not British Airways. Concorde had to be made profitable, capt Walpole came up with the unique selling point marketing of Concorde (speed), and that helped a lot.

The British livery is not peculiar to Concorde. It was the first livery after the merger of BOAC and BEA, and it lasted only a few years before it was replaced with what's called the Negus livery, which added the "airways" wording.

PROGRESS? Fighter pilots wear a g-suit, a flying suit, and go to the toilet in a bag, unable to move from their ejection seat the whole flight. Concorde passengers wore smart/casual clothes whilst they enjoyed a three course meal, drank champagne and had the freedom to walk down the cabin to a regular toilet(UK) bathroom(US) (!! Even concorde didn't have a bath!!). To fully appreciate this magnificent machine I recommend 2 books: The concorde story by Christopher Orlebar & CONCORDE by Johnathan Glancey

There is not, and long will not be, such a beautiful plane as the Concorde. All countries in the world invest huge sums of armaments to protect themselves from adventurers who like wars. Air communication should be improved and flight times shortened. This will bring enormous economic benefits to the world.
