I've got my money on the smart car. I think with the engine weight over the rear, and lower bottom end torque, it'll hook better than the miata. Then I feel it'll just walk away with its reduced weight.

Stability is what I'd be concerned with. Such a short wheelbase might get a little sketchy.

The LS in the miata makes quite a bit more torque than the K in the smart car. The smart makes a little more HP but less torque and since the miata has a little more weight and a way better chassis it will hook a little better but handle the power WAY better. On the other hand, the since the K is over the rear wheel in the smart car and it with a little less torque, it should hook good to and maybe better than the miata. Plus they have the option to use boost my gear and all that fancy stuff with that Honda engine. At first thought, I really thought the miata was going to win 100% but now after really thinking about it I'm about 65-35 miata. winning. And on another note again, I really just want the Smart car to win! Lol

During the race have the 2 drivers switch cars after each race to make the race more level this will help in judging the race because the driver might be more comfortable in one car then the other and the driver gets the chance to experience how the each car handles for the first time race at the Freedom Factory

Smart car has so much weight over the rear wheels, sorry to say but I think it'll beat the Miata across the board until heatsoak becomes an issue. Handling though the miata wins because the smart car's brakes still need some tweaking. Smart car is now a mid-engine car

do you know what the gearbox setup on the miata is? I think they could get 50/50 weight distribution if they put a custom torque tube to a corvette trans-axle in the rear! if it has a T56 or something, then the miata is done for lol

That´s a very ggod point! The Miata`s low-end Torque might be a disadvantage due to the lack of traction. The Smart-Car has 100 less pound feet and they come in way later, when the wheel-speed has already risen enough to make it stick, even with these trash tires. So I personally think the Miata will have the 60 foot due to the tires and torque but will spin as it comes above 3500 rpm. The Smart-Car will overtake as it makes boost until they cross the 330 and after that the Miata will gain again due to the way better aerodynamics. All in all it will be so close, I`m exited!

The Race should consist of the following: standing 1/8th and 1/4 mile. Then a 10 lap feature at the Freedom Factory. After a half hour cool down then an Australia time limit inspired burn out contest. To make things even more interesting make Cleetus drive the Kater Tot and Taylor Ray drive the Miata. Best two out of three. If the Miata wins Jeremy keeps his hair - if Kator Tot wins Jeremy shaves all his hair off.
