Amazes me every time I see drag race uploads from the USA. Empty stands............ I mentioned It before, but I think, there is a drag strip in every corner of every state and every weekend there's a top fuel event in the US of A, I guess. The race at 5:45. Wow. 3.939 vs 3.940. 1 1/1000 of a second That's roughly 6 inches at that speed!
@louf71784 жыл бұрын
If I did this right: for a 30 frame/sec camera (normal movie rate) (using 320 mph) 15.6 feet per frame would be traveled. 320 mph x 5280 ft/mi ÷ 3600 s/hr ÷ 30 frames/s = 15.6 ft/frame 15.6 ft/fr = 187 in/fr so 30 fr/s x 187 = 5610 fr/s, minimum, needed for 1 inch increments. Suddenly 10,000 frames/sec (1/2") is somewhat course (for 320 mph). (Don't ask me to do this twice 😵)

I lived miles away from the only 1/4 mile on Oahu growing up and every Sat night my dad and I would wait till we could hear the big boys start cranking up then we’d drive over in our 68 RS/SS Camaro. Those are some of my best childhood memories getting some fries or a hotdog from the concession stand. I was so comfortable at the track as a kid that I’d fall asleep up in the stands since the races would go past midnight some nights. This was in the 90’s before people wore hearing protection lol so in between my years and years at the track and in garages around loud cars and my love for going to concerts and being right by the speakers plus my years of shooting guns I have a nice case of selective hearing lol.

That was a great weekend for us. We won two races in a row with the special Napa brakes body. Great video. Thanks for sharing. 7:02 we had a great run 👍

I have been to the Rt. 66 drag strip several times. I love to get my nitro fix there when I can but that was a few years ago. But for some reason almost every time the NHRA is there, there is a very severe storm. They even had a tornado touch down very close to the track. It was shown on ESPN.

It's my favorite drag strip. I've spent all my weekends there last year.

@@AutoMotoCha9L It really is a very nice drag strip but I am only interested in my once a year nitro fix when I can get there. I have been to Indy for the U.S. Nationals a couple of times but that was several years ago. I wanted to go to the drag strip where you can go underneath it but never was able to.

There's nothing like experiencing it in person especially at Thunder Valley in Bristol Tennessee.
