This is so cool!!! I've been a fan of Jossi ever since discovering him on Instagram a few months ago. I've always wondered how he had the patience to make all those snake knot bracelets with micro cord. Especially since making them with 550 gives me fits sometimes😄 Thank you so much for this tutorial.

Brilliant ! No need for sawed off knitting needles tips to help you insert the new working end back into the last loop and all of the stress of pulling things tight again, something that would make my fingers hurt after a dozen turns. I'm thankful for this video.

I have recommended your channel to at least 50 people. By far the most usable information I've found. You are slow with your steps at beginning and slightly speed up just as us watching are catching on, its so helpful. My only suggestion, unless you've already stated on prior videos, tell us roughly how much cord = how long lanyard. Even a rough number like 3" of this knot is 12" of cordage, 1:4 ratio or 1:8 something of the sort.
@2873lonewolf
@2873lonewolf 3 жыл бұрын
Just an update on ratios. I used 36" of 550, made a 3.5"(thats 7" of cord) loop, got 2" of snake knots and 2" "tails". Extremely hard to get another snake knot out of those 2" tails so I'm stopping there. Looking at my measurements, you get 1" of snake knots per 12" of 550 cord + add your loop and 4" for tails to finish off.

Aptly named video. I tried the "usual" way to tied this knot and just about gave up. (Okay, I gave up.) It was nearly impossible (and very frustrating) trying to tighten the knots). At first I thought this video was going to be silly because it was so different, but it turned out to be surprisingly excellent. This method is far superior - much easier and much faster - than the others I looked at, including from some very well known knot folks. Thank you for sharing this method and video. Two thumbs up!!

I need some help with a 2-color snake knot lanyard that II am trying to make. I made some similar lanyards many years ago, but do not remember the "recipe" for making my colors end up right. I want the snake knot to be 2-colors, but the long (neck) loop to be a single color. This loop will be cut to put break-away connectors. I am using a swivel snap connector on the other end.

Is there a way to keep this knot ends from becoming loose? I find that with a little jiggle or movement, the knot ends start to loosen and then the whole thing becomes more easily unraveled.
@TheWeaversofEternity
@TheWeaversofEternity 10 ай бұрын
Are you pulling the knots tight enough? If you're using paracord the snake knots really shouldn't unravel that easily.
@tomcha75
@tomcha75 10 ай бұрын
@@TheWeaversofEternity I think I am. I pull it tight, then squeeze the slack with pliers, then tighten some more. But when the cord moves near the end, the last loop over the line seems too forgiving. I guess maybe I'm putting it under too much of a stress test.

Is this a different snake knot than some of the other tutorials on KZbin? I don’t know what he means by pulling out the loop after you tighten down the snake knot, most other people don’t have to pull out the loophole he does.
@turbyf1
@turbyf1 3 жыл бұрын
Try to maintain the orientation of the knot for the viewer. If you take a knot and flip it over and turn it upside down as you do in the video, it is most confusing because you employ the terms "left" and "right" which lose their meaning when you flip the knot because you say "left "and" right" without reestablishing the orientation of the "bend of the knot."

This is a different kind of knot than the snake knot. Every single knot in this knot is locked with another one next to it, so it's more firm and steady than the snake knot whose every single knot is independent. In China it's known as Kingkong knot.(not the gorilla but a term from buddhism)
