Welders hate on everyone for bad welds. Half the time it’s just not a pretty weld but it’s a functional weld. Not all of us went to school to become a welder and have to practice all the time. And welds on things like this don’t need to be perfect
@lordcuddlebuttz33366 жыл бұрын
great video bud! if your having problems with your stick welding try turning up the amps, also drag the tip of your electrode on the ground a few times if it’s still sticking to the steel, or you can collect some grinder disc shavings on the ground with a magnet and dip the tip of your electrode in them and that helps too! dirty old welder trick haha

Great little forge well built quick and easy. But you wont get the high heat you need without a simple improvement. You need to add forced air to your air intake with a valve to control the flow. A shop vac works great for that. you may also need to be able to increase or decrease your gas flow into the mix chamber. By doing this you can reach temperature hot enough to melt steel in excess of 3,000 degrees. It would be a simple addition to what you already have.

Using a cutoff disc with no guard - bold move! I've had them shits explode on me and throw shrapnel into a face guard i was wearing.
@Marc0303207 жыл бұрын
This is most common when they get "loaded" by softer metal. Had a 6 inch wheel explode in a shop once because some dysfunctional person cut some aluminum with it - and the next person used it for what it was for, steel. They, of course can explode because of other reasons (to much pressure). But this is the most common cause of failure. Also welding with a t-shirt for me is a no no... I guess I'm just to pale skinned to take the sun burn that results. I did 16 tack welds with shorts on once... once.
