This series aims to show the best vehicles to use in GTA Online in a racing situation. That is, around a regular circuit with a mix of corners and straights. How Lap Times Were Obtained Accurately
The best lap time a vehicle can achieve around a circuit determines how good it is and therefore its place within this list.
Each vehicle was taken around the same circuit multiple times, with the best lap time being recorded. For most vehicles this equates to 10 laps per vehicle, but can often be more to ensure the absolute best lap time has been achieved with the vehicle. There are some caveats to this kind of testing though which are worth explaining below.

I recommend reading this for anyone who is confused, interested, or doubts the validity of the results in this video as it explains in great detail the extent to which these results will be useful for you personally, in addition to linking the track used for your own testing/comparison.*
So with that all being said, my vehicle testing should be taken as a guideline. The testing is very accurate for this track and similar tracks when cars are driven close to the maximum without any extra refinements. At the very least you should be able to use this testing to help narrow your field of view for your own personal testing. I would always recommend testing a variety of cars yourself and take into account what kind of tracks you're racing on, what is better for you and your skill level, and even your budget. My testing is meant to guide you, not tell you exactly what to use in every situation.

It's still crazy how instead of adding HSW to news cars as well as giving older cars the HSW upgrade they deserve to make them relevant again, they only added HSW to new cars (for Drug Wars and San Andreas Mercenaries at least). At least the Criminal Enterprises DLC gave the Stirling GT an HSW upgrade but that was almost a whole year ago and since then, only new cars haven been given the next-gen treatment.

PC Player - For a long time now I've only really played when there's something new, be it day one DLC content or the subsequent dripfeed to check out. This DLC however marks the first time that I've lacked any motivation to fire the game up. All of the youtube content is showing off career progression and monstrous HSW cars etc, while we're sitting here waiting for the one unpaid intern still working on this game to finish the "expanded and enhanced" version for PC. This is the sort of thing that a properly funded and staffed development team could whip out in no time at all, but of course that would cut too deeply into the shareholder dividends.

R* is already gaslighting us on how removing cars from the in-game website catalogues is "an improvement to useability" while putting them behind the GTA+ paywall, I have no qualm believing E&E for PC is just held back by the deciders at the top, not the devs under them.

I haven't seen this mentioned yet, so I thought I'd point out that the La Coureuse is available as this month's free car for GTA+ subscribers in the Vinewood Car Club, and the one available to claim in the VCC garage comes with the HSW Upgrade as well as all HSW parts (everything except Mode Level 3; it comes with HSW Basic Mode Upgrade, but engine, suspension, etc is all HSW already). So for a measly $100K to upgrade the Mode to level 3 (and $75K for armor + bulletproof tires), GTA+ members can get their hands on the top sports car. It seems like the service somehow gets even more P2W each and every month.

Personally I feel HSW has ruined basically any class of vehicles that get the treatment. Prior to HSW upgrades, Muscle (well sorta, STX kinda ruined that prior), Sport and Supers were all decently balanced with 3-4 cars on top that were all similar pace, now each class in game is really ruled by 1 car.

On Last gen and PC, the muscle class is balanced between the Buffalo STX, Weevil Custom and the Vigero ZX. Current gen needs to have HSW mods for all land vehicles now or racing is just going to be abandoned just like Arena Wars was because of the insane pay-to-win shitshow.

with regards to the acceleration, I think it's easier to think of this and the Buffalo EVX as "normal" cars with no engine sound. Almost none of the characteristics typical of electric car handling data are to be found here. That means no hard-capped top speed, so it's not like other cars could claw back time with kerb-boosting because these new EVs can do that too. I think they should have done it like the Imorgon where you still get that monster acceleration but last time they tried to do another Imorgon we got the Omnis e-GT, which didn't have enough power and didn't have the close ratio gearbox flag so it got to 2nd gear and just _died_

With HSW, the La Coureuse is a damn nightmare for the sports class, which justifies its price On old gen and pc tho, what makes it so cool is being the new king of rally cars and quite the convenient car for a bit of freemode PvE thanks to the bullet-resistant windows (a first on an EV Imani Tech car), the great traction and acceleration, and the handling on dirt Definitely one of the things carrying this DLC alongside the Raiju. On PC/last gen at least. On next gen, it's so good that it's horrendous for balance

@NoBody-pw3kf it's all tradeoffs really. The Virtue is faster but harder to drive and is less reliable on the dirt, and it has the bulletproof rear window because...well it doesn't have that window The new french car is a more reliable thing to drive, even moreso on the dirt, and is still quite as fast, tho comparing it to a supercar EV is a bit unfair. I think it has the EV armor bonus, but without armor plating, so it's definitely less reliable against direct hits from explosives which AI doesn't really use too often anyway. It has the bullet resistant windows which provide protection temporarily but in all directions, so the car would be good for mission objectives where you really dont need to slow down or eat bullets too often I'd say it's pretty solid. The Virtue and the French car whose name I don't feel like spelling or pronouncing definitely are reliable but i see why the Virtue is more preferred more generally. I see something good coming out of the La Coureuse tho, for being so fast in its class, on dirt, and being untouchable to rockets for as long as you drive like hell

So this car has the fastest lap time because this car is insane when it comes to bumps. Bumps act like speed boosts and I've manged to hit 173mph (with HSW upgrade) just driving around in the city. Any race that involves a lot of bumps or that takes place in the city this car will be king, possibly the best car for HSW time trials

Hey bro, I use your lap times to breakdown vehicles by class in GTA online on Xbox One, since we don’t have HSW it makes it easier. I have all the cars broken into 4 Tiers, and have only made 3 tracks. since you can’t change weather conditions or my “Tiers” I actually have made 24 playable tracks, ones with snow and w/out. Very difficult to get their popularity up, but I’d be honored if you were to test one of them lol

I'm glad I'm still on last gen, because there's no fucking way I could stomach this car being faster than a fucking F1 car. What's going to be next? A EV SUV with HSW mods that beats the Emerus around a track and the HSW Stirling GT in sheer top speed? Without having HSW for ALL land land vehicles, racing balancing is throughly ruined in this game. We need HSW mods for all vehicles now, or else theres not even a point in trying to race with anything else.

It was nice when HSW first came out and made old cars relevant like the Banshee and Sentinel XS, but now it’s just for select new cars. Since R* really pushed the FOMO this DLC, giving HSW to removed vehicles would push for sales on those cars.

This is the best car in the game imo, great handling, it's small, great acceleration, great explosive resistance and good for pvp/freeroam. Also mk2s can't lock on, sadly I'm on pc and don't have access to HSW, that would make it the ultimate car, the fact that it beats open wheel cars in lap times is insane

I just bought the car today and I was pleasantly surprised with how good this car corners, I had a feeling this car was gonna be horrible to drive (considering it's based of the Renault 5 Turbo 3E so I knew it was electric) with crappy handling but I was wrong lol. I really like this car although I don't get to experience the HSW version because I'm on PS4 so what would the position of this car be for PS4 without the HSW sports cars?

I was going to buy this thing regardless but they made a better driving Issi Sport. Love the Issi Sport and this will make a fine addition to my Rally garage! On PC so even though it isn't the "Best" here I still like it!

Actually, while race bike is faster in terms of normal cycling, BMX's dominate cycle races on most roads because bunny hopping is way faster. Although scorcher wins up Chiliad.

Broughy why do you not use the stock braking technique for open wheel cars? It makes them significantly faster and places them more accurately in your ranking. A very small amount of racers can extract everything from these cars so why not appeal to them with these videos?

For the same reason I don't go out of my way to brake boost and kerb boost with other cars (which would also make them significantly faster too, by probably about the same as the open wheel cars using their own tricks which would then ultimately render the entire ranking the same anyway). It's all about consistency of testing methods.
