I love how for one year they allowed a rolling start, and ever since then it’s a standard start. They really should remove Larkins “fastest” skater record.

I agree 100%! The 7 meters that Larkin had as a head start gives insane amount of speed for the run itself, easily shaves off about half a second. I don't care who has the record, but one guy should not be given 7m runway as a rolling start when everyone else has to do a standing start from the line. And whoever is retarded enough to say "cry some more", do you think it's rational in 100m sprint to put all other athletes to standing start and one guy is already at max speed when others launch?

I always find it funny that "the fastest skater" is limited to the all-star game. Never mind that there are numerous skaters across multiple teams that have put up better numbers, they didn't make the all-star game, so they don't count. this applies to most of the skills competition

It was reported by someone from TSN (not sure which source they got it from) a few weeks ago that McDavid approached the league and requested to not participate in this competition anymore. Not sure about Mackinnon

If only their blades were longer, they didn't have that pesky stick, they did that all the time, uniforms were less bulky and more aerodynamic and were able to race others, that would be one hell of a sport... if only one existed... oh wait, it does, it's called Short Track Speed Skating and it's amazing

This does not really prove who is the fastest skater because going around in a circle does not replicate the way speed is needed or relevant in an actual hockey situation which is the time a player needs to reach the fastest speed a player reaches in a STRAIGHT line from a standing start.
