the road infrastructure looks so smooth! I have to find me some equally smooth places to skate around here, but it seems like it's pretty rare except for some roads

More from that camera angle at the end (pointing at the skates). It really let's us see how you are dealing with some obstacles that are hard to spot from the normal angles. I've been trying to study your skating style since I started skating (3 months ago), particularly the soul slide has become my main goal and I feel like I can stop much better than a 3 month old beginner is supposed to (although that is practically my only skill), so I wanted to say thank you. And also, it would be nice to see more videos of you detailing the variations that you use and when you would use one instead of another one (e.g. when would you opt for doing consecutive small soul slides to the side instead of a long one with your leg in front or a single transition to magic slide, etc). It's probably intuitive for you but I struggle sometimes to figure out how I should stop depending on the surface and how much time I have to react. I hope you're healing well and you're back on your skates soon.

I know the area you skated in the video (Delaware). I used to live in North Philadelphia area but now I live in the Northeast area. Sad to say I don’t see anyone rollerblading up here in the Northeast, just bike riding, motor scooter, dirt bikes and from time to time skateboarding. I bought myself a pair of used rollerblades but found out I gotta relearn how to skate. 😄 Waiting for better weather before I put them back on and try again.

god this looks so fun. i genuinely don't like any physical activities. not running, not sports, not exercize... but inline skating has always been an exception. i live in the sticks, no urban environments anywhere around me. i stick to a cul-de-sack and small (less than a mile long) trail. how i wish i coulf skate freely like this.

Obviously not OP, but I’d say that the most important ingredients are (in no particular order): * strong legs and good body weight to power ratio * solid cardiovascular fitness * efficient movement * well-fitted skates * confidence in your stopping technique (!) * and maybe most importantly: having fun - sprints will always take a lot of effort, but you can see him smiling while powering through, because flying through the streets feels magical :D

Both! I started skating again 2 weeks ago (12 weeks after the injury), but haven’t been to the city. This is old summer footage I finally edited. I’ll be taking it easy for a while still since it’s winter and I still don’t want to be falling on the shoulder. Doc said I still don’t want to fall on it. If I were returning to a contact sport for example, he said I shouldn’t yet. But left it up to my discretion as far as skating since it doesn’t use my shoulder directly.
