Could someone explain the maths regarding the tree and glider but that David gives? I don't get it and thought Lee was right

This racked my brain too. I think David is saying the trees height in terms of how high up the guy was. If the guy was 2/3 of the way up the tree, then the height of the tree is how high up the guy was plus half of how high up he was, which would be 2/3 plus 1/3. I'm not sure if that was a great way to explain it lol Another way to say it: Lets call the guys height up the tree X and the total height of the tree is H. If he is 2/3 the way up, then X = 2/3H. If we want the full H and all we know is X, then we'll need another 1/3H, which would be H/3 = X/2. Since H = 3/2X.
