I have fasted since I was a teenager this was not a strict regime as it now it just happened. I still fast between 12 and 16 hours daily, I must admit that I have noticed lately a significant change at around the 12 hour mark, I am more alert and certainly feel better for it. I am now 75 and still working, I do not drink, smoke or have any underlying medical issues and I have all my teeth (Just thought I would mention that), I don't want to live longer I just want to be healthy and stay self reliant.

OMAD takes practice, patience, and discipline. I've been doing it for 2 years. The biggest hurdle for me was learning the difference between cravings and hunger. Eliminating ALL the junk helped.

@@mindhive625 wasnt interested in weight; no issue there, but I did lose weight. My diet was good compared to what I see/hear about others eating. I dont eat out. Haven't had a soda in over a decade. Grow/raise most of my food. My issues were IBS, chronic inflammation, fatty liver, high cholesterol, and chronic fatigue. Tried many other things: diet, exercise, over the counter meds, prescription meds. Nothing worked, so I started reading, alot, over several years. Read about fasting for 12hrs, 16hrs, etc. Decided to stop all forms of sugar, and eat just one hearty meal a day. Lost 10 lbs fast and kept it off, and all above problems are gone, with no new ones appearing.

I simply am blown away with all the unintended benefits of fasting. No matter how many videos I watch, I discover some new benefit. It's like a puzzle and you are starting to piece it all together, as one benefit is often derived from another. The picture becomes more clear as you continue to fast.

I have been fasting for 36 hours once a week for over a year now, and I can tell you there are huge benefits to this. Too many to describe, but everything in this video is factual and on point. My biggest advice is to learn how to control your mood and mentality as a whole. This has been my biggest struggle while fasting. It is easy to downward spiral with this and get very hangry. If you choose to fast don’t make those around you suffer from these personal effects of fasting.

Never thought I would love fasting but I do. Quick story, Every time I went to the doctor or district clinic my blood pressure was always high, I never understood I got scared so I decided to do some extensive research on how to bring it down naturally, that's when I across fasting and decided to try it out, been doing it for approximately 3 weeks and let me tell you my BP has gone down significantly.

Fasting changed my life. I was overweight and felt horrible. My blood pressure and heart rate were sky-high, I fast like this, maybe it helps someone! Monday - OMAD (23 hours fast) Eat one awesome dinner, healthy protein, and vegetables (no overeating) Tuesday to Friday - 16:8 (Usually, I eat some eggs and avacado or snack on peanuts during the day, then a healthy protein for dinner) Saturday - Cheat Day (Eat anything I want without going overboard) Like chips during the evening or even some candy / junk food dinner. Sunday - 16:8 Repeat. After simply doing this and I don't even exercise a lot, I am now extremely fit. My blood pressure last reading was 104/65 , and my resting heart rate is now at 60-75 (was 100+). Life changing, I even came off my anti-depressants. Maybe this comment motivated one person to try fasting, and I hope you do :) Only got one body! Have a nice day

Everyone who talks about prolonged fasting says it’s easy from day 4. But this video suggest it’s not worth it to go longer in terms of optimal fat burning and autophagy, i don’t know if they are just covering themselves though and don’t want to say it’s ok to fast longer etc. How tough are the first 72 hours for you? What’s the longest fast you’ve done?

I've tried every kind of diet under the sun and nothing worked for me in a way that was sustainable. I found through fasting all day and only eating a main meal at tea time and a couple of healthy snacks before bed I can not only sustain it, it makes my body work better. I have hypothyroidism, so my metabolism is very sluggish despite Thyroxine medication, so loosing weight is almost impossible for me, couple that with arthritis leaving me needing a knee replacement and poor mobility I was struggling to shift the weight. I have used the same process before my knee got bad and I managed to shift 7 stone for another operation. Poor health and immobility has left me needing to loose weight again so I can get my knee replaced so I'm back to fasting and I've already shed a stone in 2 months.

fasting is amazing. you feel better and you save a lot of money on food lol a year ago i was eating 3x every day + snacks in between now i eat once or twice a day and have lost so much weight you need to get used to it. first reduce the sugar then cut it off completely until you feel comfortable without sugar (usually takes a week or two). then slowly from 3 meals to 2 (extend the time in between) and when you feel good with 2 you can try with 1 or 1 1/2. thats what my stage is right now. apparently you can also go 48-72 hours without food but i ll see soon enough if its possible or not, i usually feel a little bit weak after 20h+

So I went OMAD and damn I feel so good in the morning. I've noticed if I study in the morning in a fasted state I feel like I'm galaxy brain or something. Doing lunch after this starts to feel like a punishment at this point because I become tired and sleepy so I'm definitely gonna try doing more than jsut 24h

I've been OMAD with a mandatory 24 hour fast in between each meal for going on 10 days now. I'll be doing it for the next 5 months at the minimum. I've lost 6 KGs (13 LBS) so far and the cravings and hunger I experienced on day 1 to day 4 have pretty much disappeared. I only get properly hungry about 1 hour before the fast ends, and that's when I'm somewhat checking the fasting clock in anticipation for its end - but I find myself unable to finish my meal when I break a fast without forcing it down and for the next 12 hours I just don't want to see food as it feels like every meal I eat is the equivalent of a christmas dinner haha But in actuality those meals consist of a regular plate of food. I don't do second helpings, and I actively look forward to hitting that fasting clock again soon after my meal and after dinner tea. Drinking plenty of water really helps to combat the initial hunger waves, Jason Fung talks about it and he's 100% correct.

Look at the man thru those years in which he fasted and it made him a strong mf! Damn fasting really is legit! That, I guess is the best example of the effects of fasting 😂

I LOVE fasting......it has changed my relationship w/ food, decreased my desire to overeat, and so many other benefits. I feel so much more in control of my hunger, feel much less bloated, and deink a lot more water. It is so worth it to 24 hour fast. We focus on food way too much....so it is very enlightening experience.

Hopefully this will answer some questions: I started 16/8 fasting at the beginning of 2020 (right before the pandemic hit). I have lost 100lbs since (6'3" 350 lbs down to 250 lbs) and have maintained a much healthier weight since. Here's what I can share from my personal experience. 1 - I chose my eating window to be 11AM to 7PM with the thought that the easiest meal to do without is breakfast. 2 - when eating I still tried to keep my overall calories for the day below 2000. (being 6'3" technically my daily calories should be a little higher as well) 3 - The first two months are tough - my body was trained to want food when I woke up - so the "hunger cravings" sucked - so just drink water. In my case I drank black coffee (some argue adding cream breaks the fast, some say it doesn't - I err on the side of caution) 4 - Your body WILL adapt, and soon it just becomes second nature 5 - calorieless drinks are ok - I stick to water, black coffee, and unsweetened iced tea - I did drink diet coke for the first year as well, but cut that out in 2021 6 - I added working out at the gym in 2022 to help build a little muscle mass back. I didnt lose a lot, but I did notice it - I was never overly strong to begin with, but now in 2023 I have noticed a big difference. I work out about 930pm to 11pm 3 times a week - many tout working out in the fasting late hours but that would mean 9am and work prevents that. Lastly - make it your lifestyle - once you start, commit yourself to always eating like this - it WILL change your life. I no longer have high blood pressure, I have a LOT more energy, and I have more self confidence. Good luck! YOU CAN DO IT!!

People, beware! There are some psychopaths/sociopaths recommending dry fasting for many days! Dry fasting for many days is self harming at the best and suicidal at the worst, depending on the weather. There is nothing wrong in drinking water. There is everything wrong in the advice not to drink water. Water is life. Water heals and helps. Especially during fasting periods.
@mickeymouse4938
@mickeymouse4938 2 ай бұрын
Dry fasting for 2-3 days (less than 3 days but more than 2 days) is beneficial for fat loss and body repair. Up to 7 days it’s perfect, but more than 3 days should be done under supervision and after a lot of practice with shorter fasts.Read the phoenix protocol as well as the experiences of others. All fasts should be started in a slow manner- first try 16 hours fasting, then wait for a few weeks, then 24 hours. Then wait and then 36 hours, then 48to 60 hours. More than that is not recommended without supervision and expertise.

Funny thing about fasting. Up until the 20 hour mark your craving food. It's like ok, I can eat. The 24 hours are up and guess what? "I'm good, don't need to eat"... So you go for another 12 hours.... you get there and your STILL good. Then eat 48 hours after you started thinking "Man, this mountain of food will be EPIC!"...and eat like a mouse. Lol

I've been fasting 18-6 every day for several years. My commitment for 2023 is to work towards 24 hours or OMAD with an occasional 36 hour fast mixed in. I'll give a little wisdom on the subject of fasting. 1. Don't confuse boredom with hunger. If you think you are hungry, do something for a few minutes and it will be gone. 2. If you are married or living with someone it is best that your partner, be on the same page. It's a lot harder if they are cooking and eating all the time. 3. Breakfast is the easiest meal to eliminate and try to exercise in the mornings. 4. This is not hard; it doesn't cost anything. in fact, it saves you money. 5. Good luck
