I loved rebuilding my shifter. Used some energy suspension bushings, some washers and hardware I had, tweaked it a little, and lowered the shift knob about a half inch. It feels AMAZING. My friend was blown away. He's used to cable operated shifters, and couldn't believe how notchy and responsive the shifter on my DA is.

Crazy how such a simple task can make such a big difference on the car

@@ChrisSadowski Yeah it made a good difference to me, but I think what tripped him up was the shift rods. I showed him under the car and he was baffled. Seemed foreign to him, but he agreed it made for an awesome shifting feel.

FYI, that white OEM bushing that goes around the ball of he shifter used to be included in the Fastline kit. The reason is exactly what you mentioned - it removes the slop in the shifter, and is a critical component that should be replaced when upgrading the shifter.

Does it hit the exhaust?
@Aarontuned4 жыл бұрын
I have a cheap eBay one On my da and it hits my exhaust can’t wait to get rid of it
@ChrisSadowski4 жыл бұрын
It does not hit the exhaust, but it also depends on where your exhaust runs. I’m sure if you run an ebay exhaust it will probably hit because those tend to be more centered and not to the passenger side of he shift tunnel like normal

All you had to do was remove that center console instead of tearing the shift boot. Come on bro!
@ChrisSadowski4 жыл бұрын
No the boot still had to be opened up a bit, this is the newest version of the shifter, it’s thick as crap. No part of that boot fits over that shifter as is
