Tomorrowland used to be a place of dynamic movement. It's now a dead zone. The central corridor feels like a death trap during shows and high traffic periods. They need to entirely reconfigure the central space into multiple levels, add a new people mover, and get rid of Pizza Planet. Thanks for the video.

I still think Pizza Port should be Pizza Planet. I mean, they have a Buzz Lightyear ride there, so it would make perfect sense. They can even have a claw machine in there that has the green alien toys as well as one Woody and one Buzz toy buried in there. :P

I'd like to see another refurbishment to Tommorowland, maybe the original 2055, make it more retro, or give it a digital/virtual style. Tomorrowland will probably get a refurbishment somewhere after 2020 when a little bit after Galaxy's edge opens My personal changes is Space Mountain a little, Autotopia, and the Submarine Voyage to fit which ever style they choose, and Have either the people mover to comeback or a better Rocket Rods and a new attraction for the Star Wars Launch Bay building and Astro Blasters

Cool video, to note because I didn’t see anyone commenting on it, most of the 2055 plans ended up in WDW in Florida. Alien encounter was awesome, the spaceport theme to it is still present and the time traveler 360 vision show was one of my faves.

I love Tomorrowland, BUT it does need to stick to a cohesive theming. For awhile people thought it was going to turn into Starwarsland (it kind of already is) but now that Galaxy’s edge is an ACTUAL thing tomorrow’s land feels really out of place. I think either returning to the 1950’s view of the future or the Jules Vernon version, the land will feel more appropriate..... personally I like the 1950’s view will work better (bringing back the people mover and making everything look clean)..... but I really loved Treasure planet and the idea of an entire land similar to the Aesthetic of TP would be stunning. Tomorrow 2055 is dead :/

I think I would rather see Tomorrowland 2055 being build instead of Star Wars land. It’s all Disneyland Paris fault for the financial disaster because I think Paris wasn’t at the time a not good idea for a theme park, Paris was already a tourist city and people just won’t go to Disneyland Paris they rather go to the United state to see Walt Disney World because Orlando was a better place to build then Paris. Other then that great video👍

I agree. I'm sure DLP is a nice place, but it's sort of the red-headed blacksheep of the Disney Parks lineup and I can't think of it without having a biased opinion on the aftermath it caused. If DLP never happened, we would've had Tomorrowland 2055 (and probably not as much controversy on Alien Encounter, but that's another story), WestCot, and the other cool things we never got and instead got "diet" versions of them.

There was this weird ego thing going on where Disney thought it could replace actual history and culture solely from brand recognition. You go to Paris to see Paris. You go to Disney as an escape. California Adventure was the most damning monument to this mindset. Luckily, it was acknowledged and California Adventure is all the better for it, even if every other idea for the park would have been better. As is, it's getting closer to the best it can be. Even if there's a reliance on existing properties. As long as they're done with the expert immersion that Radiator Springs offers, the end will continue to be a net positive.

Well there is cultural factor to why it failed in the beginning. Europeans wasn't used to go to theme parks resorts. Disney kind of had to learn us that american vacation concept. Don't be to rough on DL resort Paris though. After all, it was not a fail. The park are still up n runming today and are very successfull and popular. It just had a hard start. You should visit it. I've been to Disney World and TokyoDisney as well. Paris have some of the best versions of the Disney rides and stand out very good in comparison!

Since it's obvious that Disney is willing to do big theme park projects again under Iger's leadership if pretty much everything that was announced at D23 2017 is anything to go by, it'd be interesting if they revive this concept to a degree once Galaxy's Edge, Pixar Pier and Marvel Land are complete.

Ok, so now Tomorrowland got a fish, and some temporary Star Wars themed attractions until Star Wars Land opens... but long term I don't expect Nemo, the abandoned Rocket Rods loading tower and tracks, or the many Star Wars attractions to stay there. Today's Tomorrowland is clearly temporary and in need of another overhaul, or maybe it will be replaced entirely (with Star Wars being the new vision of the future). I hope Space Mountain stays though

I want to submit my observations as a passionate Disneyland devotee as well, who has known the park since the very beginning. It opened 3 Days after I was born in July 1955 and since being wheeled around in a stroller has been of profound personal symbolic significance and genuine pilgrimage of love throughout my entire life. My obsession with it has never ceased. I actually recall the first version of Tomorrowland and my later ecstatic experience of the first upgrade in 1966! The important thing to note which is generally overlooked is that these versions were still Sourced from the original inspiration of Walt himself, who unfortunately I gather did not live to see its opening. When the next version unveiled in the early '80s I was appalled. It was clear that the purpose and direction of Why the place existed in the first place was utterly lost to whatever corporate suits were involved in those aesthetic decisions. This Land has been journeying with no Visionary at the helm in timeless misdirection ever since. Here is my suggestion. Corporate has never realized that each time they revise things by removing original designs they are in essence Demolishing Art. Disney's Visionary Art. His Tomorrowlands always implied by the color schemes and architectures a subconscious association with NASA and other existing futuristic organizations be they public or private. The primarily White & Silver color scheme with any minor contrasting Black or other colors in the palette succeeded in that way. The franchise promotional Rides like the Pacific Bell (AT&T) CircleVision 360 attraction, the Monsanto Journey through Inner Space, The General Electric Carousel of Progress, all had that White and Silver scheme. The Gold/Bronze and multi-colored mess of the early '80s upgrade achieved pointless whimsy with no future. When I saw the 2015 film Tomorrowland film i was in unexpected joy that whoever wrote the screenplay remembered the '60s and knew from the inside the heart of what message Walt was trying originally to convey by the very look of the city in the movie and the impression portrayed of the whole dream that Disney had for the original concept for EPCOT as a City of the Future. I had been to the 1964 New York World's Fair as the writer of the film obviously had as and related to the connection made, having seen firsthand some of the original attractions that migrated shortly thereafter to Tomorrowland. Presently the place is filled with mostly Science Fiction themes or just general Amuzements. The reason why Tomorrowland in the park initially worked was that the appearance of it gave an overall effect somehow that The Future was realistically believable!A lot of new beautiful exciting ideas yet to come! No more retro. Everything there should be directly suggestive evidence of something happening NOW that is of potentially upcoming technological practicality to make the world a better and more fantastic place to be!

There was a point in time that I had my own ideas for the (eventual) refurbishment of Tomorrowland. Said ideas revolved around a more... Space Age variation of the Tomorrowland 2055 concept. Instead of the Jules Verne and H.G. Wells theme that is present in Paris' Discoveryland, the version of Tomorrowland 2055 that I had in my head was meant to keep the land as a mix between the 1967 Tomorrowland and the idea of a glistening space port that would have connections to "off-world destinations" via both Space Mountain and Star Tours: The Adventures Continue. Further ideas for this Tomorrowland 2055 revival include: The return of the PeopleMover, except a form similar to the Magic Kingdom's Tomorrowland Transit Authority, where Linear Induction Magnets propel the cars at various speeds along various parts of the track. Innoventions? Gone; replaced by the return of a classic: The Carousel of Progress, only modernized to the form that its counterpart in Florida is expected to get within the next few years for Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary. The Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage? It will stay as is, because it is simply a re-imagining of a classic Tomorrowland attraction; as well as an implication for a neighboring attraction, which I will elaborate on in a bit. The Autopia? Instead of it being demolished within the next 7 years, as rumor states; Autopia would be completely modernized as well, using an idea that was used at Hong Kong Disneyland: Electric-powered cars. This electric-powered (or possibly fuel cell powered), environmentally friendly Autopia would serve as an example of what we expect for transportation in the year 2055. And, in the implication stated above, if you remove either the Subs or the Autopia, both would end up having to go as a result, as the main part of Autopia sits on top of the Submarine Voyage's show building. Anyway... The Astro Orbiter? It will be re-located back to its original spot above the PeopleMover station, thus freeing up what is already a congested area in the Tomorrowland entrance (which becomes more of a death trap during the fireworks). Keeping the name, Astro Orbiter will be themed similar to the Walt Disney World version. The spot where Astro Orbiter currently is now will have a return of an opening day relic: The World Clock (after all, this idea IS of a glistening space port, so the World Clock will be to help with immersion, as per "off-world arrivals"). Redd Rocket's Pizza Port? Re-theme it and rename it to something that would fit the glistening space port idea better. Possibly something similar to the space station-themed restaurant that's planned for Epcot next to Mission SPACE, except have it be 2055 Earth-themed, with moving images that make it look like ships at the "nearby" Tomorrowland space port are arriving from and leaving for Space Station 77 (as Space Mountain is literally next door). This will prevent complaints from guests who would state that the Tomorrowland Terrace would've been the only dining area in Tomorrowland itself. As for the space once occupied by Captain EO, Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, and Star Wars: Path of the Jedi? Convert it into an indoor Space Stage (named after the stage that opened with Space Mountain in 1977) that can be used for special events (considering that Main Street, USA's Plaza Gardens is no longer there for school and college concert bands, wind ensembles and even string orchestras to perform at; especially when the studio located backstage behind Toontown is in use on busy days). It can also (possibly) be used for overflow seating for the drastically re-themed Pizza Port. The Starcade? Redo it to make it more up-to-date for the 21st century. Keep some of the more iconic arcade games (including an actual example of the TRON arcade game). One possible theme idea I had for the Starcade was re-theme it to a futuristic version of Flynn's Arcade from the TRON movies, where you would play the classic TRON arcade game, and on the second floor, a Virtual Reality Space Paranoids with 21st century graphics (more themed toward TRON: Legacy's Grid environment), or possibly a TRON: Legacy Virtual Reality Light Cycle game, both in a manner similar to the Avatar Flight of Passage VR attraction in Disney's Animal Kingdom. And finally... Buzz Lightyear: Astro Blasters? I am not even certain about what I should do with that attraction, as part of the PeopleMover runs through it, and I'm not sure if I should just redo parts of Astro Blasters to accommodate the return of the PeopleMover, or get rid of it and replace it with something else. (I did have an idea for a revamping of The Timekeeper for the Magic Kingdom to replace Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, but with a Doctor Who theme; done through collaboration with the BBC, of course. Perhaps I can try revisiting that idea for Tomorrowland 2055?) Anyway, these are my personal ideas for Tomorrowland as a space port in the year 2055. Most of the worries of the time catching up with the future should not be a concern, as most of the ideas for this Tomorrowland 2055 revival would be more Science Fiction and Science Fantasy, but keeping the color schemes in a fine balance of 1967 Tomorrowland on the Move and a silver metallic-esque space port of visions of the future.

In Tomorrowland at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA, after the completion of Star Wars Land in 2019, we should rather refurbish Tomorrowland prior to 1995 and around 2021-2023 as opposed to the old PeopleMover with motorized tracks (1967-1995) & Rocket Rods (1998-2000), the above ground platform should rather bring back the New PeopleMover without motorized tracks as well as moving Astro Orbitor all the way up to the top of the pylon.

I love Tomorrowland! However I think it does need some work. I know it won’t happen, but I’d like to see Star Tours moves to Star Wars Land. That would free up space for something new in its place. I like Star Wars... but it’s been overkill in Tomorrowland. I’d love to see that go. Knowing that it’s staying, I’d like it if they added “windows” to the ride vehicles. It could just be some stars shooting past you or something... but I’ve always felt like just having the screen in front is boring. I think the theater needs to go. It doesn’t really get used. I love Space Mountain, but I’d love to see an interactive ride queue, or if not at least moving scenes in the tunnel, rather than stationary pictures. I like Astro Blasters and Astro Orbiter they way they are. I LOVED the Rocket Rods. I would LOVE it if they brought them back, or something similar. I find Autopia kind of cheesy. I’m not saying remove it, but I’d like to see something more interesting added there. Finding Nemo is fun, but I feel they could change up the show. I could see hem being able to keep the ride built the way it is and just change up the story line, so depending on the ride, the story varied. Oh and Innoventions is a waste of space, in the shape that it’s in. I’d love another E ticket attraction. They could do so much with the space theme. I just really hope they keep the IPs out.

I think you should clarify that it wasn't EuroDisney's Park itself that caused so much financial trouble but rather the decision to build 7 huge hotels to go with it from the start - that's where thy didn't take in account that Europeans weren't used to the thought of having multiple day vacations at theme parks and there wasn't simply enough to do for visitors to justify booking premium priced Disney rooms. Of course nowadays it's different, but it was simply too much too soon - which in exchange also resulted in an underfunded Discoveryland expansion with that scaled down Mountain.

Disneyland Tomorrowland really needs to be redone. I would bring back more science oriented rides - Adventure Through Inner Space was fascinating and could really be done well with today's tech. Then I would do a trip through the galaxy visiting other planets, some primordial, some with advanced civilizations, it could be very exciting and never get outdated. And either bring back the people mover or put in a Tron ride. Its terrible just sitting there with no purpose.

I hate tomorrow land. Have since they attempted a refurbishment in 1998. I helped open pizza port in 1998. I remember the sounds of that awful rocket rods! Then the sounds would disappear. Why? Because it would constantly break down! 😆 they need to tear down that ugly “2055” rocky backdrop (including the rockets that blocks entry)! Bring back the mid century modern look of the 50’s Tomorrowland, and include updated digital features. Star Wars land, didn’t need to happen. I would’ve loved to see Tomorrowland updated!

I would have placed the entrance star wars land where innoventions and autopia is today. Having it be a star tours like ride that would transport guests to the new land. This would help push tomorrowland into a more sci-fi feel. I would then close the original star tours and would possibly turn the show building into a F4 ride where guest would be viewing one of Mr. Fantastic experiments that goes wrong when the human torch and the thing try to help. I would then restore the people mover track and make it a jungle cruise like ride with a robotic host. Space mountain would be mostly untouched besides a few updates to the queue and instruction video. Jedi training would be moved to star wars land and the 4-d theatre and the arcade with become a nova flight training academy ride. Nemo I would probably keep but I do not think it is very tomorrowland themed.

The carousel Of Progress theatre wasn’t renamed “innovations”. It’s called “innoventions”

Am I the only one who liked the copper/bronze aesthetic that tomorrow land had for a few years?

Seeing as it is Walt Disney's Tomorrow Land, it should resemble Walt's vision of Tomorrow.

I want them to build a new house of the future and go really crazy with it so it never winds up being the house of today. How about a Mars colony house, like what people would live in on Mars?

Sorry but due to OSHA rules People Mover will not be returning any time soon if ever. But I like the 60's version look. sleaj and white and move the space ship right at the entrance back to orignal location. either up or down on the ground to open that entrance up.

I think the idea of tomorrow land being a look into the probable future is just a bad idea. It's always going to grow outdated and look retro in a bad way. I say they should go for the 2055 idea. It was such a great idea. Placing it in an a future of fiction is perfect and makes it timeless. I'd like to see that or to make the land a full 50s sci-fi retro look like fallout but clean.

Tomorrowland went back to its old glory? False. The place seems so static compared to how dynamic it used to be. We the rotating Innoventions building, the people movers moving around, not to mention the rockets that used to be above the people mover station. That was a sight to behold.

Tomorrowland lacks conceptual vision and *imagination* The Disney Corporation has taken a turn to build a land with Star Wats Land which I predict will receive a bland response from fans. You either love it or hate it vibe across the fandom board. Tomorrowland should have received the rebuilding attention it deserved a decade ago. But it did you may think, what they did was throw in garbage attractions. We can play the blame game all you want. Disney made a decision to lowball their plans to upgrade Tomorrowland and on the flip side they have an unlimited budget for Star Wars BLand. Tomorrowland needs a complete overhaul from the ground up. A vision in place to be the backbone of a Disney icon. The scrapped concepts described in this video are gawd awful, the mess they didn’t make would have been poorly executed. Tomorrowland can reintroduce space travel, solar energy, international transport attractions, auto technology, NASA updates and an attraction to catch a glimpse of these updates. Keep Utopia and Space Mountain, the rocket next to Pizza Port, too. Tomorrowland the way I see it will always be in Disney’s design boardroom...tomorrow 🙈
