The young people today would be utterly shocked at the sight of Ozzy giving an articulate and coherant interview. The REALLY scary part was prior to the horribly staged 'stoner' interview he did for the Death Of Western Civilization documentry, interviews like this with Ozzy were the norm. He was/is a very smart guy when he isn't trying to be a cartoon character.

I love Ozzy so much. He's my biggest hero of all time. I am so lucky I grew up in the 80's and got to watch all of these kind of TV show interviews back when they really came on. Back then at least they would put some rock and roll on TV. These days the TV acts like rock and roll doesn't exist. They play rap music and bad country pop. They completely turn their back on these heavy metal legends. So does the radio. We're spoonfed fucking Tom Petty and occasionally given some AC/DC or one of Zeppelin's way overplayed moldy oldies. Ozzy gets a little airplay once in a while. But it's not fair. Hard rock and metal still has a massive audience. Thsnk God for You Tube and our video and album collections at home so we can enjoy real rock and roll. Ozzy rules..I love all metal. I love KISS, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Slayer, Metallica, Venom, thrash and death and doom bands. Heavy metal bands have way more musical talent than pop artists. That is a fact. And Ozzy is the Godfather of it all..I love Ozzy forever. I got to meet him too in 2001. It was the best day of my life. I saw Black Sabbath 26 times in concert. I started listening to metal at 8 years old in 1980. I started with KISS, then Sabbath. I saw Ozzy solo 15 times too.

It was not at a press conference at all. It was in 1981, LA in a meeting with a few record company executives and Sharon was also present.

Unlike most of the commentors to this video,who are so surprised at how Ozzy looks here,I lived through his whole career. In the early and mid 80's Ozzy definitely was overweight. Alcohol bloat.He drank day and night through this period, while doing enough cocaine to keep himself awake,so that he could drink more. He didn't really lose weight until he was making the No More Tears album and that also was his first attempt at getting sober. Since then he has exercised and tried, while not always being successful, to keep his drinking under control.
