Another issue with calling diets "disordered eating" is it ignores that the issue with EDs are the addictions to control/weight loss/over consuming. It isn't you eating in a weird way compared to the masses (my one fast food trip a week in America would qualify me if that were the case). It's the extreme emotions you have tied to it and your addiction to it. ...Does she think beach balls are filled with helium or something? Sis, your metaphor is great, but not in the way you think it is; you don't have to hold a beach ball down, they only rise to the surface of the water but then no higher, & then just float there pretty much in place _barring human action_ . Ppl have to _throw_ the beach ball to get it to _fly_ upwards - it doesn't actually just move by itself. Kind of like how when you only stop actively dieting + working out your weight will generally only passively increase by just a size or two & then stabilise, as long as you don't transition to totally treating it like trash; you have to seriously over-eat & under-exercise over long periods of time to put on multiple sizes of weight. Sorry.

The people who get angry about how diet culture sucks and isn't sustainable and ruined their lives are literally feeding into the exact trope they bought into by subscribing to "diet culture." Losing weight and becoming healthy isn't brought about by subscribing to a diet or trend. Losing weight and becoming healthy is literally a long term investment and change of eating/drinking habits over a long period of time, moving your body in meaningful ways over a long, consistent period. It's not a crash diet, it's not 3 months of dedication, it's not a "I tried Keto for five months and it didn't help"...It is a *lifestyle change* meaning you change the way you eat and move and live FOREVER. Too many people out there try to lose weight with diets and don't realize the imperative nature of how absolutely essential it is to change bad habits for the LONG run. Nobody's against you but yourself. If you can't stop drinking Cokes every day, that's on you.
