I just bought a SRAM FAT5 crankset and I wasn’t aware of the -4mm offset chainring. You have an Absolute Black chainring with what appears to be a negative offset (reverse dish) yet they don’t have any on their website and I have emailed them and it is not something they make. Do you know what your chainring offset is?
@neverstockjp2 жыл бұрын
Use absolute 3mm and instal it backward
@danielgibson58482 жыл бұрын
@@neverstockjp it’s SRAM not Raceface. They don’t mount backwards.
@kendallwelch Жыл бұрын
That was the first thing I thought when I saw this as well. As someone who has tried mounting their AB oval onto a SRAM direct mount crank, the oval timing isn’t in the right place when you flip the ring for negative offset. The chainring in this video would probably ride horrible lol. One would need to reverse a regular circle chainring for the same gold look.

It went together easily in less than an hour. kzbin.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.

Fantastic video! Shredding Bliss - I would be really interested to know if you are using an after-market rim strip to set-up Tubeless? Couldn't quite work out from the video and have been having some trouble with the Dude I have just taken delivery of (obviously with a different wheelset, but hoping principle is the same!)
@ShreddingBliss3 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot, glad you liked it! These are carbon rims from a company called Nextie. They have a 32mm wide rim tape on (enough to cover middle channel), after market yes. With alloy, fat rims you have more issues sealing it because of the gaping holes in the rims. I’ve used gorillatape in the past. In any case, as long as your tape covers the widest part that can let in air, you should be good
@JIMBOTHECANNON3 жыл бұрын
