Thx for the sub and major compliment 🙏I started this as a way to show my family/friends who were asking about what I get up to (I was gifted the GoPro to do so) but also for my future self to look back on. I guess somewhere along the way other people started following me too :) I usually strap a camera on and go for a ride. Either by myself or with friends. Hopefully no matter where I’m riding it gives that same vibe that I/we are just out having fun, pushing ourselves and seeing what we can do. Glad you’re along for the ride 🤘

Yea, that's me, I am a lousy bike handler. It's frustrating. You're doing better than me though. I like the alternate creek route that you took and then the exit from the creek worked perfect. That was a great day I'm sure.

@Snowdog1010 haha thx yeah it was pretty crazy - made it home through the blizzard and my boots & laces were frozen. I had to thaw my boots before I could take them off 😅🥶

I have a mongoose Argus Trail fat bike. I took my first ever far ride in the snow yesterday, and what a beautiful feeling, and a great way to get around in the winter. The control blew my mind away, fatbikes are the 4x4 of biking.

@@BikingwithJP Well, if you have any recommendations (for bikes available in Europe) I'm all ears! I am looking for a bike mostly for summer, to ride in national parks and on the beach.
@BikingwithJP9 ай бұрын
I’m not as familiar with what’s available in Europe, but I can give you specs that will translate across any brand. 12 speed. There’s 10 and 11, but if you plan on doing any climbing you’ll want 12 speed. A good drivetrain makes a huge difference. 26 vs 27.5 - if you’re riding groomed trails all the time 27.5… if you want to explore 26 typically supports wider tires. Check each bike to see how wide the tires can go. 3.6/3.7 is typical for 27” / groomed trails, my tires are 26x4.8 but support up to 5.6”. Suspension - hardtail for efficiency and cost, I have fully rigid although I probably wouldn’t complain if it had front sus. Brakes - get hydraulic brakes. Big tires to stop, don’t get cable or you’ll need to do finger workouts so you can ride one finger braking ;) Dropper post - for me a game changer. You’ll see me struggle with my seat up on a skinny and then I drop my seat - manually because this bike doesn’t have a dropper yet - and I get it first try. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n6m1Xndumq-sn7M

@@BikingwithJP Will a front sus reduce pain in the sitting bone and/or wrist pain (old injury)? I like the simplicity of a fully rigid, but not sure it's a good idea.

@@Fortuna_716 I think you’ll find it’s way better for winter, I have 2.5” tires with aggressive tread on my 29er MTB and after one ride in the snow on a Fat Bike… I get it. You’ll love it if you get it!

Welp, looks like you have fat bike conditions to ride in! Looks like you need some studded tires! Lol
@BikingwithJP Жыл бұрын
I definitely need something if I’m going to keep biking along this path with how uneven it is, even on a wet day in the summer it’s sketchy. My first thought is to try airing down and playing with tire pressure before seeing how far that can take me until I need studs. My legs were so tired already after this ride l and less tire pressure will also mean more effort - so I’m looking forward to that 😅
@ZKelly22 Жыл бұрын
@BikingwithJP what tire pressures are ya running?
@BikingwithJP Жыл бұрын
Well tire pressure is hard to say because my pump starts reading about 8psi and the tires are now set to 10psi. I think before I let some air out they were closer to 15psi. Feels like they can go a lot softer too but I think I’ll end up having to do it by feel if I need to drop below 10psi 😝 what’s a normal fatty tire pressure?
@ZKelly22 Жыл бұрын
@BikingwithJP ah okay 👍 I'm not sure what a normal pressure is, just making sure you're not running the same pressures as your skinny tires haha
@BikingwithJP Жыл бұрын
I imagine if Sam Pilgrim got a Fat Bike he’d run 60psi ;) I am trying to go by feel. I’m not sure how accurate my pump is below 10psi as it only goes down to 8… meanwhile ppl on Strava saying 3-7psi spending on rear/front snow/mud. So by feel it is :)
