Eminem wouldnt have been what he was if he didnt sign with dre. The fact that dre allowed em to do em most record labels would of never allowed that and tried to turn him into some gangsta rapper. Dre embraced his crazy shit and even his beats for em at the time were not dre’s original sound the beats were catered for em’s type of story telling flow.

As a fan of rap in the 90's and actually remembers the group the Outsidaz (lauryn hill was on their mixtape and remember seeing their tourbus around 1997 in Toronto) Eminem would NOT have been as famous without the co-sign from Dr.Dre, Snoop etc for various reasons. With Pun and Fat Joe he def wouldve got a platinum album (lots of rappers were going platinum back then) but he might not have had the longevity. And various other reasons

But let's be honest here, Dre and Eminem were a match made in heaven. Em inspired Dr. Dre to get back into the lab and do what he absolutely excels at, making killer beats.

Possibly not the most popular opinion but Em and Pun could have outdone anything Dre ever did. To me Pun is one of the best if not the best MC ever. Dre has a classic sound but nothing he was involved with prior to Em is in the same lyrical realm as endangerd species. I personally prefer Pun to Em but acknowledge the skills of Em.
