I mean the barrier is supposed to reduce and not increase the intensity of an accident. I hope the families win a civil suit as this will prompt a review of these rails etc. Sadly, people/authorities respond to costs and money more than anything else.

What he does is really important. I obviously am not interested in guard rails lol but everyone should be interested in making the road safer for our loved ones and our selves as well as people around us. So many people die every year because of poorly installed guard rails. The woman in this story passed because the guard rail didn’t crush… It’s not meant to be so solid that it goes through the car.

What’s more horrifying is that the guard rail should have crushed with the car instead of going through it. Properly installed ones save lives but the ones that are wrong are death traps.

This was very eerie listening to. Back in July of 2016, my husband and I packed up our separate cars with our belongings and two cats and traveled from Florida to Nevada. In Mississippi/Louisiana area, we encountered a bad rain storm and both ended up hydroplaning. My husband and cats ended up in the median, barely missing the guard rail and center which was basically under 3-4 feet of water and somehow didn't roll his vehicle, although his vehicle should have rolled. We walked away with no scratches, just scared. Our cats slept through it all. 4 years and 3 months later we had a little boy. I seriously think our son is the reason we are here.

The way the host genuinely cares about how she’s doing and if she’s going to therapy and if there’s anything legally they could do about the ‘guard’rail makes my heart happy and hopeful. I lost my best friend to a drunk driver when she was 16, me and my other 2 friends were only 2 minutes in front of her on the road. We passed the car that killed her. She also died instantly, there was nothing they could have done. Having someone, especially a stranger, care so genuinely would have been a game changer. BOTH of you are amazing❤️

I live in Ohio. I can guess where they must have been driving. It’s an extremely dangerous section of highway, even when the weather conditions are perfect. It becomes very unpredictable when there’s any rain, wind, or snow. I often wish they posted signs for travelers who aren’t familiar with the area. People deserve a heads up to be extra cautious around there. I’m so sorry to hear of this tragic story. ❤️💔

Why is it such a dangerous stretch of road there even when the weather is perfect? That seems strange is it windy roads and stuff?
@MadisonEllen.
@MadisonEllen. 3 ай бұрын
@@cadenmichael_ A few reasons. It’s always, always very busy. It’s one of the main routes through Ohio so tons of out of state drivers. This is the most densely packed highway I’ve ever been on. Most people driving through there completely disregard the speed limit and usually end up driving anywhere from 85-100 mph (maybe more). The roads are windy and also angled uncomfortably. The exits are confusing and easy to miss, so people get easily confused or miss their exits which causes a lot of hesitation and frequent last minute merging. The lanes also get narrower or wider at seemingly random intervals.
@MadisonEllen.
@MadisonEllen. 3 ай бұрын
@@cadenmichael_ there are also lots of random tight curves and when you’re going 75 mph (or more if speeding) and also not familiar with the area it easily catches you off guard. I see people swerve A LOT. It’s a very fast-paced, densely populated, and unpredictable environment.

If you have an electric vehicle also beware guard rails were never built to withstand the weight since the batteries in electric vehicles are super heavy. I recently saw test videos on KZbin and it is terrifying. Be safe out there folks. Thank you for sharing your story. 🩵

This is such a chilling story that inspires us all to love those we're close to. She should Check out Grace Mandeville! She has one hand and showed how to put up her hair with a pony tail if I remember correctly

My husband was in an accident in December 2022 and broke many bones, lost some fingers and most function in his hand. He spent a month in the hospital. I really resonate with her and the pain she feels. Talking about it helps break up the pain. Best wishes to you in your healing journey ❤️‍🩹
